Hello all we are picking up our new Craz on Saturday and just have a question as to how everyone straps stern to trailer. Dealer says to strap to swim platform because the surf tabs are in the way to get to hook points on stern. Just seems like a lot of pressure to put on swim platform. Thanks

Our old boat the trailer straps went to the transom, the new boat, dealer is right and SC accounted for it. The platform has rings built in for the straps.

Your straps might still rub on the surf tabs causing chaffing. I cut small pieces of hose to protect them.

Wow. You could never do that with the older boats. The platform brackets aren't good enough. I do strap the platform down separately so it doesn't wiggle tho.

I love how they added the hooks to the platform. SC is getting pretty smart about building boats. Very excited to see where Moomba goes in the future. I'm hoping some changes to the mojo when I upgrade this year 😁

I am thinking about putting retractable straps of to the outside to miss tabs and go to transom hooks. With going to platform if you where to have to do an emergency stop there is nothing holding boat back as really the straps are pulling forward.

Isn't the whole bow roller and winch holding the boat from going forward in an emergency stop? Plus there is an extra strap from the support post to the bow eye that's a back-up to the winch if it were to fail (at least on mine there is). The transom straps just keep it cradled on the bunks if it were to bounce around, right?

The idea of Transom straps is to prevent the bounce, but most importantlyy to hopefully prevent this:

There is some white on my boat, but not too much...Don't have a Dodge, so I think I'm doing okay.

Once I parked by boat and truck like that. My neighbor (in his 70s or 80s) came over to tell me he called the police on me b/c I was blocking the sidewalk. I just moved into the neighborhood. We talked for a minute or two and I told him I would move it once I got my stuff out of the boat. I was polite. I asked the man as he walked away "is this my welcome package to the neighborhood?". The old-coot flips me the bird. I started laughing my azz off.

Never spoke much after that. Don't think that old-coot ever smiled. Glad I was not living next door to him. Later to find out, I was not the only person that happened to. It was his life mission for all neighbors . . .

I moved the truck/boat and boat. Po-Po came 15mins later. Did not stop or say anything to me. Just waved.

I am having a problem with retractable strap location.
I was really wanting to mount straps on trailer frame but at that location straps will rub on surf tabs, but if I move them out onto the step just 3 inches past frame which is much thinner steel they will clear. Now I keep thinking the steel is too thin but then I look at the factory straps going to the swim platform and think it's much stronger than that. Just wondering has anyone else has mounted retractable straps to the steps on rear of trailer?

I have submitted a claim last year. Dealer lost claim and fired several service managers. I have submitted this claim again with the new service manager who claims this is a flaw that will lead to gel coat cracking and severe damage. I have the claim logged with Boatmate trailers as well but they sent claim back telling me to refer to Skiers Choice since it was an item sold with the boat at the time of purchase and not aware on a 2015 of the autoflow. I had purchased the boat with autoflow at the time of purchase so the trailer modification must be handled by Skiers choice. None of the other boat and trailer combo's have this from the other brands since they don't want the warranty claims.

Still waiting for this to process and get resolved.

That guy was on his dock yesterday shaking his fist at us from 85-90 yards away.

Now was this from straps to swim platform or from retractable straps of to the side to miss surf tabs and strap to lifting hooks.

Trailer to lifting hooks. Direct line of sight between those two cross over the trim tabs. Boatmate originally was going to reimburse whatever had to be done for this to not ruin gelcoat but they called me before I took it in and said they spoke with skiers choice and they are aware of issue. True or not I feel it was an overlooked item when they switched from manual side plate flow to autoflow.

Step your game up then, sir!

I didnt bag on ANYBODY with a white boat. I only mentioned why I didn't want white on my boat. The keyboard combatants inferred that.

The dodge thing was just a joke building up on the previous one "luckily it's just a bayliner." I don't think there is a single "bad" full size truck out there, they all have their pro's and con's.

Personally I'm more offended at people who have RAM trucks and call them Dodge trucks.

They are no longer Dodge Trucks, Dodge and RAM are completely different companies now. They were separated in 2012 Legally and they no longer share the name.

Fiat owns both companies but no were on my truck, my paperwork or anything does it say Dodge.
Dodge is the car.

RAM is the truck. Get it straight people lol

All the parts still have a dodge star logo stamped on them(open your hood and see all the star logos). It's still a dodge, just like chrysler, just like jeep, its sold at the dodge dealership. It's kinda like they rebadged Global Warming into Climate Change when it really wasn't working...

straight from Wikipedia:

"The Dodge Ram 1500, Dodge Ram Mega Cab, Dodge Ram 2500/3500, DX Chassis Cab (Mexico Market), Dodge Ram 4500/5500 are built in Chrysler's Saltillo Assembly Plant in Coahuila, Mexico"
