I've been looking at adding a new mirror/arm to the tower and have looked at several options. Read good things about the Monster Tower and Roswell arms which are the two I'm leaning toward but interested from folks that may have one of these if they move at all with the inserts on a smaller diameter tower (I have the 1-5/8-in diameter Rad-a-Cage tower). Any input/feedback on any of the options below or any other brand recommended? I currently have a CIPA mirror that could be re-used if I went with an arm that doesn't come with a mirror (the plastic threads on the cheap windshield mount are stripped out).

DIY Wake: $145, with mirror, articulates, fits 1-5/8-in tower

Krypt Towers: $142 with mirror, fixed arm, fits 1-5/8-in tower

Monster Tower: $185 with mirror and inserts, fixed arm, universal fit with insert

Roswell: $175, no mirror, articulates, universal fit with insert

Samson: $285 (most expensive) with mirror, fits 1-5/8-in tower

I had the Monster arm on my 02 Outback (1-5/8 tower). It is solid, adjustable, and the quick release was a bonus. We removed it for towing to avoid bug cleanup and for lowering the tower to get in the garage. When I sold it, I kept the arm and it went on my 10 LSV (2-3/8 tower). I was very happy with it.

Krypt is the closest one I have used and it's rock solid. The day I finally chose the spot it never moved and never had to re tighten it. Using my first window mount mirror and so far so good.

Go with the monster. Before I got the monster, I had one of the off brand articulating ones with a quick release and my aluminum under the quick release cam broke.

I've been WAY happier with the monster. The quick release is rock solid. It's a proven solution that many on here have and are quite happy with. it costs a little more, but I wish I would have went with that one in the first place, because my broken off brand didn't help the overall cost.

I use it with the CIPA vision 180 mirror and am quite happy.

I went with the roswell arm. It fits snuggly on my rad a cage tower.

I ended up putting it in basically the straight position, would have been fine with the cheaper non-articulating arm. I am using the cipa 180 mirror with it.

It does not adjust easily or quickly. 2 bolts screws clamp it to the tower and three big bolts hold the bracket that allows it to twist at the base that attaches to the tower. It's a paint to back three bolts out to move it around to put a couple back to hold it in place to see if u like the fit. It does seem like it's not going anywhere once u get it torqued down though.

Hope it helps.

Thanks for all the feedback....Went with the Monster arm. Now just have to wait another 6 weeks before I can get home and use it.

Now sell the mirror and get the CIPA 180 one. It is the best mirror I've ever had on any boat. Got it for around $25 with free prime shipping in December (thanks to a timely tip from brain rinse on here):

agreed on the CIPA 180. excellent mirror. But $25? how'd that happen? They typically run $65 to $75 like they are now.

Hello everyone. I bought a 2013 LSV at the end of the season last year. It did not come with aztower mirror. It has the OZ tower. I'm looking at the Samson Tower mirror. It's asking which type of tower I have, the Oz HD Tower or the Oz tube tower. What is the difference and how do I tell which one I have? Thanks everyone!!

The original OZ tower was 1 7/8 dia tubing, mid year of 13 they introduced the OZ HD, which is 2 3/8 diameter and had a 'fold assist option' for lowering the tower
