Hey guys I picked these up for what I thought was a great deal ... just hoping some audio guys can tell me if they will do the job.

http://www.jlaudio.ca/mx650-ccx-sg-tb-marine-audio-mx-series-speaker-systems-91939

Paid $140 for them brand new in the box. He had one set left so I didn't want to wait and miss out.

I want them to go in the bow of my Mojo (I opted out of the bow speaker factory package) because I am sick of having to spin 1-2 of the towers around to face the girls up at the front because they always complain that its not loud enough up there.

I'm thinking with a MSRP of $429 that I may have gotten a steal ... but curious what others think of the sound/specs on these and if they will do what I want?

Thanks.

Those are legit speakers man, If I wasn't running Exiles, JL would always be my next choice, have always loved there products.

The JL Audio MX650 is in my opinion the most musically accurate 6.5" marine coaxial there is. A very broad range. Great midbass. Very smooth and true response. No false emphasis. Vocals are incredible. Most revealing mids. Just exactly as the music was played, mixed and recorded.
That same speaker starts at $200 a pair (depending on grill style and color) in the States with discounts from there. So $140 is a good deal in the States and a super deal in Canada. You did well.
You should temporarily switch them into the cockpit just to see the difference.

Yes there should be wires already in the front.

Realllllly ... hmmm I might just try that. I have considered switching out the stock cabins in the past ... this might make me actually do it.

Yeah so I found the wires. So do the speakers just mount right to the plastic above the cup holders? I figured it would be something a bit more sturdy ... its just cheap flimsy plastic. I checked in behind and felt nothing else so Im assuming thats it. Just use a jig saw cut the hole to size then connect/mount em? Sounds easy enough.

Yes that is how they are mounted, you can add another peace behind, I have not had any issues with the way mine were mounted. Just be careful to not strip the screws.
