Has anyone done this or heard of anyone doing this. I read on the MB forum that the only difference between the Raptor 400 & 440 is a simple flash upgrade. Very curious on if anyone has done this or heard of anyone doing this? If so, how much? TIA

Im curious. But I bet it ruins the warranty.

Wow, I hope this becomes a thing. Seems crazy that it's a 4k upgrade for the 440 if it is in fact just a flash upgrade.

would not be surprised if it's a simple flash upgrade. not uncommon to see gains of 40 hp/tq just from a flash. the cost of the upgrade would be for the time spent in r&d to ensure the engine is not running at the ragged edge.
would suspect that indmar has the ecu pretty locked down and not sure there's a real market for a tuner to mess around unlocking it to flash it and since the gains are not real significant and the market VERY small. the loss of the warranty for me would be a dealbreaker.
that 400 should not have issues in most boats if it's propped correctly.

The torque ratings are the same for the 400 and 440 through 3800 rpm. There is Very little difference in these two powerplants. After seeing the output differences in the 400 and 440 I would not buy the 440. I would go 400 or 575.
If you want more torque swap your 1235 for the 2079 and this should give you what you need. If you already have the 2079 I would spend the cheese elsewhere!?? Cold beverages maybe??? Or a custom Board???
Good luck Brett.
