View Full Version : Ordering Craz, opinions on color and spray patter

I recently posted in regards to mondo vs Craz and decided to order a Craz. But I have a few questions that I am hoping you guys can help with.

Spray pattern: I was originally wanting the classic spray pattern but am now considering the striker but with no graphics. If anyone has striker layouts w no graphics please post pictures or links.

Hull color: this would depend on which scheme I go with, but I seem to see 50/50 feedback on black hulls. What are your thoughts of black vs white hull and black vs colored hulls ( I would be doing bright green)

Deck Color: I will most likely do white or platinum deck color. I think platinum would look good with gray, green and black scheme but have not been able to find many pictures.

Main panel: I want to do metal flake, either gun metal or black eclipse for the main color. I like the black w the green but also like the gun metal and feel like it may not show scuffs, water spots, or imperfections as bad. If anyone has these colors, let me know what you think.

I am trying to post two pictures for what I built, curious which you guys like better and why. Having trouble posting them from phone will try from computer later.

Spray pattern - Just went through this and ended up with the Striker. My shop has one on their show room floor with no graphic, maybe ring them and see if they will send you a pic. www.marine-products.com
Hull color - DO IT! My new Craz will be another black hull and it's worth it. You will have to wipe it every time so be ready for more work leaving the lake. If I had white I would still wipe it but nobody seems to.
Main panel - Again this will be how much you're into cleaning your boat. I had flake on the main in my old boat and it was perfect the day I sold it. Any options you chose its about the up keep and the product that you use. Their are a TON of products on the market and I choose to use www.boatbling.net

I like the black and green combo. It does show water spots but I wipe it down after every trip anyway. Great choice with the Craz!

Be careful, you can spend hours on the computer playing with the colorizer on the Moomba site, I've played with it and am not on the market for anything new. My SA is white, black and green.

Where do you live? In the south it is hard to have any deck color other than very light. Although white give you a lot of glare. It's a trade off between heat and glare. As for the other colors-- anything black or close to it is going to take lots of upkeep but you will be taking great care of your new boat anyway. Go with what you like. You want to smile every time you look at it.

We are in NC. Most of the lakes are muddy so I figured black may not be any worse than white. Usually there is a nice brown water line on my white hull when I pull it out on the trailer. I keep a nice coat of wax/sealant on there so it wipes right off but def stands out on the white. I am very picky about condition of my boat and wipe my boat down w a detailer/spray wax after every trip. I had read that black could show scratches from trailer bunks but my dealer says he does not think that will be a problem. I really like the green hull, but it is with the classic spray patter so I will have a large amount of either black or gray down the entire side. I like striker option because I can do green and gray and have a lot of each color on the boat, but feel like only a black hull would look good with it. All in all, I can't make up my mind.

If any of you guys have the lime green w black or gray, please post pics or send me link to pics if you can.

That looks great I think I'm gonna go w that spray pattern, where yours is black i think I am going to do gunmetal flake, and then do bottom black, and platinum deck. Do you have any pics of it on the water?

That'll look great! My goal on this was to have a black stealth look balance with a loud in your face look (if that even makes sense ), but what I had in my head def turned out! I don't have any water pics but I have a couple videos posted. Check my site www.radchit.com and click the "about" page. I will have some more videos up in the coming weeks too when we get rolling here soon. You're gonna love the craz dude!

Thanks! I bought a vinyl cutter for my last boat to do a bunch of graphics and am glad I did because it's been hours of fun. This is what I did on my last one http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160316/b2dab4215e08bcbcd10eac770ff71da5.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160316/095c039e1f080369756f36bc94314897.jpg

We go to Gaston a few times each year. Rent a house for a week. Fantastic lake and water usually cleaner than most around here. Can't wait to see what you end up getting on the Craz.

I can't remember the model off the top of my head but it was a bundle unit from UScutter that was like $400 with a few starter rolls of vinyl and software. I have been really happy. I made my money back immediately from what a shop was quoting to do my cuts plus I have made literally hundreds of other fun and random crap for myself and friends. Makes a fun toy for drunken pranks :)

Cool thanks for advice. We have been going somewhere and renting a house, but wasn't sure where. Will check it out.

As she sits this moment. I went with grey bottom and interior to break it up a little so it wasn't just black and green

Well I placed order, this will be my first black bottom boat. Striker spray pattern, gun metal flake with green accents, no graphics with black chrome emblem. I did the platinum deck with sky grey and silver vinyl. Green accents w black welt. I think all gray will look great. Hope so anyway.

I was going back and forth between the two and as soon as I saw the pic I thought it would look better slightly darker so I think I will be happy w gun metal. They expect it within 3-4 weeks. So I need mine to sell I'm getting impatient because the weather is getting nice and water was around 67 already on Wednesday

Dam 67 is shorts and perfect water temps. I know when we move I will be bitching about the 80-90 water temps.

I get that when I am in Texas and I hate it. Good thing is early morning rides, late night rides your warm...

My Craz is gunmetal flake and it looks much darker than the one above. Also don't worry about the black hull, a little more work and you will never have a white hull again. Ordered my second black hull and not regretting it one bit.

I love my Grey bottom hull, but I hate the scratches from the trailer bunks that I have no control over.

This is true... What I do is drop the trailer a little deeper and try not to power it up. Take it easy, ratchet it tight and slowly start up and it levels itself out.

Tried all that with the Mojo, we don't power up but if you are even a little too deep it won't center on the rear section and it will sit cocked up on the hull wrong.
I honestly can only see the rub marks when I am under the boat cleaning the trailer and bottom of the boat. So its my own mentality with it LOL

RIGHT! Normal person just looking and liking the boat will never see the bunk scratches. Guy that bought my boat was looking for shore scratches when buying the boat and never seen the bunk scratches till I pointed them out. Not a big deal at all...
