What are you guys using for your wake surf rope?

I bought a cheap airhead surf rope off amazon and I'm not happy with the length.

I have a '15 mojo with the old Oz tower and really wishing I had sprung for the S-bend.

If I put the rope on the top of the tower it feels pretty short and close to the boat when you get started, not to mention the rope pulls directly down on the Bimini top and in afraid it is going to bend the supports.

If I put the rope on the ski pylon it's a little too long and you start off too far back, and the rope pulls down against the vinyl on the sun ledge and I'm worried it's going to destroy them.

Any advice or rope make/model you can recommend would be appreciated.

Thanks!

We use some variation of this guy on all our boats. https://www.wakemakers.com/proline-lg-wakesurf-rope.html?75=1023&gclid=CLjlsJb8tMsCFYk9gQodSY0BWA

We used to pull from towers but now we primarily pull from ski pilon and just toss rope to opp. side of wave and leave. Rider falls boat turns around and rider paddles to rope. This way passengers can relax no tending rope. No ducking under swinging rope etc.

Feed the end of the rope up through the hole in the Bimini where the post is and hook onto post. Rope will be under the top. Does not stay in the swivel very good but does not hit top.

We use that same type of rope, we don't use the regular wake tower hook-up.
We tie it to the side of the tower, this allows you to pull people up and not have to come over the top of the wave, also The rope doesn't block the center view out of the boat.

Heres a few pictures to show this.
Kaneboats, Trayson happen to be in these pictures too.

Thanks for the advice guys!

I have tried feeding the rope through the hole in the bimini before, but i've found i had the opposite issue of the rope pulling up against the bimini frame... I like the idea of the side of the tower - definitely going to give that a try. Should be surfing weather in another couple weeks!

"just toss rope to opp. side of wave and leave."

We used to do that until someone learning fell over the wake and onto the rope. Scared the crap out of me thinking a limb was going to get wrapped around it.

For what it's worth, I put my rope on the side of my tower for beginners but I put it a smidge higher than Mike has his. My tower is different, but it's the same concept. I actually loop it a couple times around the tubing of the tower to take up some of the slack and get that length just right.

Most surf ropes have multiple loops where you can attach it to change up the length. You want to find that balance of not too long where they're fighting to even get up towards the pocket. but not SO short that they're eating the platform and it's not difficult to get them the rope when the boat comes around them.
