Read a few threads where people have brought their boat in and upgraded their swim platform mounting brackets. Along with this it sounds like they've added a backing plate to the back to help spread the load versus just having screws + washers.
Have most people brought this to the shop for the repair or done this themselves? On my 06 there are 3x screws per bracket holding it at the top of the bracket but what I notice on the inside is there doesn't seem to be a backing plate. I think spider cracking on the gel coat could be prevented by adding a plate back here and wanted to see if anyone else has done this... main difficulty I see is the hull isn't flat on the inside behind where the bracket mounts, there's a step down, so putting a flat plate in this spot may be challenging.
