Anyone install a FAE on a MOJO yet? I just received mine and the manufacturer said two others were made at the same time. I think this the first batch for this application and the instructions I received are not specific for the MOJO. Let's help each other out with install tips as we put these in place.

New wake plate or old?

Old wake plate. Installing new 2.0 surf tabs.
There appear to be some issues with the FAE as delivered.
I will talk to the manufacturers and report back.
If anyone else has one, let me know your experience.
Thanks.

Sorry to hyjack your thread, but are you changing your upper actuator mounts? Or did Wakeland say you could use the 1.0 mounts? The 2.0 mounts shown below are larger.

The pic of the FAE looks familiar to the 1st version they sent me for the FAE. After 3 attempts we got it right. I believe nearly 3 inches had to be added to the upward angle to clear the wake plate. Looks like he needs to make the same adjustments to yours as what finally worked for mine.

Do the newer Mojos have the enormous wake plate like I saw on the Craz? I'm assuming that will eliminate the option of adding FAE?

Am I correct that your support mounts to the drain plug? Did you consider mounting to the trim tab actuator attachment to the transom?

I am aware of the different mounts. Wakeland says the 1.0 mounts will be adequate. We shall see. I tried to also order the 2.0 mounts from them to have on hand just in case, but that seemed to be complicating the order of the plates so I only ordered those. Changing brackets would be complicated by the electrical wire so it is simpler not to change.

Yes, it mounts to the drain plug, very slick.

When I bought the craz I was told the fae isn't really needed with the new technology. These new models do a great job at both getting rid of the bad stuff and staying quiet. I can't speak to how much more quiet my new boat would be with a fae, but I can tell you turn key this thing is WAY quieter than my old tige

Was that always the plan, or was the actuator attachment ever considered?

Actuator was discussed when designing but the drain plug was decided on.

Dusty,
One other question.
When mounting the FAE to the boat exhaust flange, how tight a fit was it? Did you have to sand down the flange some to get it all the way on? Does the FAE flange seat firmly against the lip of the exhaust flange or is there a gap?
Thanks.

The exhaust output flange on your supra is different from my Mojo.

This will mount like all the other Moomba boats to the exhaust flange.

The rubber flap has a band clamp you remove, then it pulls off and you have a plastic exhaust flange. FAE will send you an aluminum insert so you can mount the rubber hose from the FAE pipe to it. This tends to fail. So most screw the rubber extension hose from the FAE to the plastic exhaust flange.

I know yours is a solo due to Raptor engine but still same concept.

Before with Rubber Flaps.

This just shows how the Rubber boot goes from the FAE over the outside diameter of the Exhaust flange. I put 4 screws through the rubber boot into the plastic flange, then used a band clamp over the screws so they can't back out. 5 seasons and never an issue on 2 boats.

Thanks Mandley.
Mine is built without the rubber connection similar to Dusty's, but will fit over the protruding flange of the exhaust outlet like your rubber hose does. A metal lip on the FAE abuts the lip of the exhaust outlet and the four screws of the exhaust outlet hold everything on.
The FAE to exhaust outlet junction is very tight, thus my question to Dusty about whether he had to sand his down to get it to fit. His outlet is a different design then ours as you and I now know.
FAE is working hard to get everything perfect. This is a new model for them.

I order fae back in the fall group buy and it didn't fit correct I've sent mine back to Larry for mods. I had a 1/4 to 3/8 gap from the outlet to the flange.

nitrodude,
Have you received your final product back yet?
I ordered mine in the fall group buy as well, but was not able to submit my boat's measurements until after
christmas so am only receiving mine now.
What was your solution to the tight flange to exhaust outlet fit?
