I just picked up my first Moomba, a 2007 outback v. I want to wakesurf but do you think a 750 punds fat sac will do it because it came with the boat. What setup are you guys running? Thanks for the help.

I am not super familiar with that boat in particular but with some playing I don't see any reason you can't get a decent wave. Somebody correct me on this but you're gonna want to get some weight in the bow. 750 just in the rear is gonna make that wave pretty steep. Some weight up front will help lengthen it out and likely clean it up. You'll find a bunch of people telling you what they ran at what speeds and those are great jumping off points but your best bet is to get another 750 for the other locker so you can play with both sides and get some weight up front and play yourself. You can get 400+ sacs pretty cheap to put in the walkway on the bow or get an ibs to keep it clean. Have fun!

Thanks muehlcj....

I ran a 750 in the rear 400 in the center and then 650 ibs in the bow. That's the best wave you can get with the obv 07 ..

Not sure how much difference there is between the model years, but I run the 900# sacs in the rear lockers on my '13 OBV and they seem to fill completely. Not a huge difference but I used to use the 750s in mine too and I think it does add a bit to the wave with the bigger sacs. Every little bit helps with the smaller boats!! :)

the difference is substantial as in 2009 the OBV was a completely new boat from the hull up. 750 is all you're going to squeeze in that locker.

here is a How To:

I have a 2006 Outback V and as everyone else has already confirmed 750's will be the largest you can fit in the rear lockers. I would also recommend re-propping at the same time if you're adding that much weight. I went with an Acme 1847 (but have also heard good things about the 1433)....do a search as there are a couple of threads on the differences. I don't have any weight in the bow (yet) but plan on adding some this year. I found I got the best wave with human ballast up front, center 400 and surf side 750 full, running 10-10.5 mph, and wake plate 1/2 to 3/4. It takes some trial and error to find the right combination of weight, speed, and wakeplate settings.

on top of the ballast you may want to look into fabing up a ghetto gate--do a search on here as there is a ton of info on how to make one

Thanks for all of the info I am thinking about also getting the Ronix wakesurf shaper. Is there any way to fit the flow system to my boat?

I built one out of wood and plastic for my boat. It cleaned up my wake and only cost about 50 bucks and about 3 hrs of my time. Better than paying $500 for the ronix in my opinion.
