I was talking to FAE and looking to get one for my Mondo. Rep mentioned she is working on a group buy for us in March/April. I will post when I hear more. Stay tuned.

Mine is 10 years old. Going strong and while I bought it for CO2 suppression the noise suppression rocks.

What kind of price break do you get with the group buy?

Last time it looks like 50 or 75 depending on The number of orders.

Last time was 50 and then with a minimum 7 orders for the $75 off. I was the seventh so everyone that had ordered before me got an additional $25 back, no matter when the order was placed for those afraid to place an order early and miss out on $25, you still get it. Run your through the website then take the 50, 75 off for the discount for the price you'd pay. I bought it for the noise suppression and couldn't be happier.

Does anyone know how the exhaust is on the 2013 Supra SA450? I know a lot of boats now have the exhaust coming out into an immediate 90 down into the water. If the SA needs one I'm in, but wont know until end of March when I take delivery.

I had a homemade version on my LSV and loved it, so thinking the SA needs the real deal, if needed.

Did you post pics and your design for the one you made on the LSV?

Here is the info I got back from them when I emailed today

Jay

I don’t have any more information at this time. Typically, with group buys – if 3 or more order, it is a $50 discount / if the group buy reaches 10 + it is $75 off. I’ve tried to push a group buy up earlier but am told that the soonest we can likely get one going is late March/Early April. I’ll hold onto your contact info and try to get you details as soon as I have it.

OK, I remember seeing this. I would have to figure out how to support it using the platform brackets but where I could still remove the platform each time I get home. Might have to go with the group buy.

i would not want to remove it everytime. I'm sure there is an easy way, but i didn't go there.

Well, I have to angle the trailer to get it into the garage. The wake plate ends up sticking into the corner of the garage. I'm sure I can leave my FAE on as long as I can take the platform off every time. Kinda tricky but doable.

Your exhaust should be straight out like all years before, the turn downs your referring to are just a tip.

Also if FAE doesn't have your boat style they will send you all the measuring information and work with you directly to design it to fit.

This is how we did our 13 Mojo, mine was the first and I was tasked with the measurements, not to hard but is tedious.

mmandley

I never heard back from her I will email Larry see if that helps.

As for the Top end speed, no effect on boat performance at all on either of my boats I used this on.

Got this back today.

Hi Mike,

It’s great to hear from you. Yes, we can do a group buy for the Moomba/Supra owners. Right now the shop is scheduled a few weeks out so the earliest I’m thinking we could do a group buy would be towards the end of the month. Larry is making some final modifications to the Moomba single exhaust designs and will hopefully have those wrapped up in the next week or two. I know he will want that to be completed for the most part before running a Moomba/Supra group buy. How do you think the first week of May would work? Let me touch base with the shop and get back with you on details.

I responded saying that I would contact her first week of May.

Mike

I'd be right there with MattSask - if you guys can figure out a way to get it up here to Canada. I asked the reps and they said shipping here was a no go. Had to ship to the US and then pick up. Maybe they will ship 2 FAEs to Sask?? ... I have family in Regina SK and could get it from them when they come for a few weeks.

I'm in regina. I have a family member with a p.o. box just across the border that we could likely have both FAE shipped to. I could go pick em up and then put yours on a greyhound to Kelowna or just ship it to you however you like.

Yah that would be amazing man! My in laws are in Regina too so even if you could drop it off there they could toss it in the truck when they come here in June! Or greyhound would be super cheap ... just wonder how well the pipes are protected in the boxes. Could decide once they arrive. Either way lets do this :o

Mine was well padded in the box so I don't think you would have any issues from that perspective.

Are there issues with the FAE if I have the autoflow 2.0 installed on a Mojo?

From what I understand, they will work with you to fab something that'll work for it. Someone else probably knows more than I though.

The autoflow tabs won't interfere with anything, if you have the new gigantic wake plate however...you may have an issue.

Mine was rebuilt after this pic due to it not angling up enough, but you get the general idea, tabs are nowhere near the FAE

This was from the MB forum. He ordered his FAE Feb. 2nd!

Got a call today from FAE telling us ours just shipped!!

They are holding out on shipping any more MB or Moomba single exhausts until we get ours installed and provide some feedback. The install should happen within a couple days of getting it. Hopefully everything goes smoothly.

I am in as well! I took my Mondo out for the first time Friday with the wife. We only had a few hours, but wanted to get out with no kids to try the new boat out and get a feel for it (wow, it's very different from my jet). Anyhow, the wife commented that she smells exhaust a lot more with this boat than the last and was concerned because she gets headaches easily. I immediately saw the "in" and told here the group buy was coming. And I thought the FAE would be a hard sell

Can someone chime in on my wife's issue I described above...does FAE cut down on fumes all together or just when moving?

sivs1
04-27-2016, 10:48 AM
I had a homemade version on my LSV and it seemed to really vut down the fumes not matter if we were moving, idle speed or sitting.

Sorry I didn't see this bro.

It's designed when your moving.
At idle with engine running you still get fumes as the exhaust bubbles by the swim deck.
Idle exhaust is a lot less noticeable though then driving and turning around.

At idle it basically will be the exact same or slightly less then no FAE but you still get nose suppression

CFD3Captain
04-27-2016, 11:14 AM
It's all good. I really didn't ask about the fumes until now. I have just been debating wether its worth it, wondering if it will solve the problem. If it cuts down any then it will be a success and she would be happy. She isn't too much into water sports but wants to learn to surf, I think she will see the benefit there too. Plus the kids.

mmandley
04-27-2016, 11:57 AM
It's the biggest benefit when surfing.
If you like to cruise show it a big benefit, if you let people lay on the swim deck while driving is a huge benefit.

They are willing to do a group buy first week of June.

I asked how much the discount was and since June starts in the middle of the week if we can do a June 1st through the 8th.

Get ready to spend that money, visit the site and build your unit so you know what options and price it will be. I will post up her reply when I get it.
