After moving from Ohio to Texas, I finally was able to justify the purchase of a new boat. I grew up with I/Os as a kid and used to ski on the Great Miami outside of Sidney, OH. Now want to get back into it, plus pick up wake boarding and surfing. The Moomba is a completely different beast compared to the boats I grew up with. It is amazing how she handles and the short time to plane. Have had it in the water several times already and am working on docking and slow speed maneuvering in tight places. I am slowly but surely earning my "Rite of Passage into Moomba V-Drive awesomeness"! Hopefully I will manages without any bumps and bruises!

From Mansfield, TX. As the crow flies we are about a mile away from Joe Pool Like.

Still working on the the whole posting pics. Thought I was successful with adding the BB code, but then received a message stating I needed Administrator approval or something like that…

Craz out of storage in the drive with tow vehicle…

Thanks all! Really excited about the boat and nice living in Texas! Took it out on Joe Pool Lake and practiced slow speed maneuvering with a buoy! Amazing what it can do after adjusting to it! When docking the boat the wind took me way off my course, so I spun the boat around and docked on the other side!

Tried posting some pics but looks like I need Admin approval first. :(

Hey Dusty. We are in Mansfield, TX. House is about a 10 minute drive from ramp access to Joe Pool.

Keith,

Next time I'm down in cedar hill at my buddies I'll let you know. If warm enough we spend a day or two on Joe Pool and that restaurant on the water. Think it's call oasis maybe. Congrats on the Moomba. We are enjoying our third one and looking forward to our 4th.

In the OP's defense he did post pics. They were delayed waiting for approval. Sorry-- I was hiding out on a golf course. Should be able to see them all now.

So many great products on the market but I have found Boat Bling (http://www.marine-products.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=boat+bling)products to work best for my boat. That and I get it for a discounted price at Marine Products with my discount code DFTR2016.

More important to enjoy the day than worrying about some crazy pics!

I already have about 15 hours on the boat and am planing on dropping probably this Saturday if we spend the day on Lewisville Lake.
Last Saturday we spent the afternoon on Granbury Lake. Very nice lake! Think I am going to buy a wet suit so I can jump in the water and get some time behind the boat. Not sure if Joe Pool is the right lake for wake boarding but willing to give it a try...

You're making me want to move back to Florida.

Tell you what, if I could find a teaching job that paid anywhere near what I make in Colorado i would be gone in a heartbeat! This place isn't what it once was plus the cold winter sucks for a passionate boater. Florida has my heart but I just couldn't take the pay cut to live there :(

You're making me want to move back to Florida.

The water temp at Lake Martin was 57 last Sunday and air temp was 75. A wetsuit will do wonders for extending the boating season!

First. I don't fit in my wet suit anymore, too many RC Colas and Moon Pies. Second, 57 and 76, that's Arctic temperatures for a Florida boy. I need 72 and 85. Ooh... a Moon Pie, gotta go.

I picked up a spring suit last year and it's amazing. I chose the route of short legs and long arms and mid 50's water was perfect! I would be all over 57 & 75 in Utah.

I'll do 68 water and 78 air. Below that I'll just go play golf. We have 180 days at or above the temps I just listed.

Been looking at wet suits! It has been a good 25 years since I have been behind a boat and itching to get back into it! Granbury Lake was 64 deg last Saturday.

Just checked my Lake 1 temps and depth. Carter Lake.

31F. 70Ft deep. Pretty sure that means lots of ice still. Booo.

Lake 2 temps and depth. Boyd Lake.

34F. 46Ft deep. No ice! Woo hoo!

Good thing I got the heater option. Do they make an ice breaker option. ha Gonna be a while before I get to go out and board or ski. :/ I can use the early season to break her in though!

Nice boat, but it's not 400 hp, but 400 ft/lb of torque. About 350 hp according to most magazine reviews on the boat.
