Anybody know off the top of their head what size cotter pin would be best for the prop? Mine was looking a bit iffy and I wanted to replace it. Just looking to get one online and have it delivered so I can be sure I'm getting a good, stainless one.

Hey Ron, call Nettles. As close as he is to you guys it is most likely a 1 day delivery and you are guaranteed the right one.

Get you a spare for the boat. It may come in handy some day.

I should prolly get one of them and stick it in my prop.. Didn't even have one when I got the boat, I changed the prop out that summer and never bought any lol.

Nettles down in Texas usually includes one clipped to a business card when they ship something to you. Nice little touch!

Question... why do we even need a cotter pin? The nut is super tight and self locking. And if by some miracle it did losen up it would just chew the cotter pin up immediately. So what good does it do?

Well, the hope is that you would hear or feel something is wrong and shut down immediately. The pin is a fail safe that might keep you from losing your prop to the lake bottom.
