New here and hoping that you guys can give me some advice!
I'm looking at a 2000 Moomba Boomerang. The boat has 900 hours on it, upholstery was redone 2 years ago. Just did some fresh overhauling with the motor (New plugs, wires, intake, starter, water pump.) The hull is a little cloudy but i believe i can buff it and it will shine.
The guy is asking $5500 for the boat, NADA says its worth $9,300.
My question is this: is it a good deal? do these boats normally go for that much under their value?

buddy has a 94 he paid 5500 for approx. 5 years ago. a lot less hours than that one.
I think that's a fair price. would not touch it for 9300.
not a good surf/wake boat, but the flattest waterski wake I have ever seen. sure there are better but this has to be one of the top 5 for skiing.
and man can it turn. corvette on the water. fun fun fun boat.

They can go that cheap in December or January. Usually not so cheap as the season approaches.

Suggest a compression check. If all is well in the internals of the engine, sounds like a good deal.
With some cleanup of the hull and inside, if you used it for the summer, you could sell it for the same price.

I sold my 98 a year ago for $7500. It was in like new condition. The first person that looked at it bought it. I loved that boat I could use it all day and only use ten gallons of gas

Great ski boat. The tower is good for hanging speakers and skis as sandm mentioned it is only a ski boat. Maybe a wake board boat with a very flat wake. I'm a skier so I say go for it. Nothing better than a boat that you and your two closest buddies can enjoy. Anything that runs goes for at least $5500.

this as well. any more than 3 in the boat and that front observers seat gets cozy during a set.

How many hours did you have on the boat? I hear that 100 hours per season is normal.

I think average is 50 to 60. Maybe even less if in cooler climate. May want to look at this thread.
