View Full Version : Manual flow for LSV troubles

So I installed my manual flow tonight. The problem the arms that swing out between base plate and outer plate don't line up at all with any holes. The company also failed to send me the 4 white bushings, 2 shoulder bolts and 4 flat head Allen screws that hold the plates and swing arms the boat machines piece.

Any ideas? Not gonna be screwed out of a grand and get the wrong machines parts or application for wrong boat and to top it off missing valuable screws to finish job.

There seems to be an unneeded hole on this cover plate and when spring is pulled not one hole lines up. I tried all possible scenarios and nothing works.

I am baffled looking at your plates.

I went and took pictures of Flow on my boat. Unfortunately we don't have the same boat but it will show you how it should work physically.

Your adjustment holes or the Spring pin seems to be in the wrong location.

Your flow plate I think might be wrong, the Holes for adjustment need to be the last thing to clear the backing plate, your pictures show it as the first thing clearing.
Your Spring pin also seems to be too high on the mount. It is what catches on the 3 adjustment holes.

Your Bracket that swings, looks to be mounted backwards. Remove the handle and attach it from the other direction.

I don't have the LSV and I heard people saying the plate goes all the way down at times, so I am wondering if the LSV plate points down.
If this is the case it looks like that second Pull pin you have next to the main rotating mount is your adjustment position pin.

In your last picture it looks like it needs to swing all the way down and it will lock into the hole at the 6 o'clock position.

Here's the pictures of mine but unfortunately mines a Mojo.

The LSV has two spring pins per side The upper spring pin is for storing the plate only. The plate swings all the way down when in use. The lower spring pin will fit in each of the three holes.

the lsv and the mojo blades are totally different. joes pics above are the correct view the blade comes along the way down.

I would have them quick ship you the missing parts , that sucks.

Thanks guys for the informative posts and pictures! I did not know the bottom spring was necessary and the locking point on swing. Of course it didn't help that my directions were in the lowest quality print possible and labeled for Mondo and Mojo, not LSV. Will take a look again tonight and hope that they're indeed all good. That way I just need to have them send me the proper hardware to mount them up and be complete.

It was strange, even the factory stainless screws they sent were almost and inch to short for install. I had to run to parts store and get 3.5" ones to mount fixed plate.

Got all the parts from Skiers Choice. Still surprised that this one works in a 180 degree rotation on LSV vs. Mondo/Mojo 90 degrees.

The flow on the LSV doesn't seem to be as quite as effective as the mojo/Mondo flow in my experience. I can't seem to run as symmetrical weight like those guys. The LSV seems to still like a solid lean. You can run more in the opposite side than without it and def helps you shape the wave differently with each position.

It's why I don't understand why it don't just fall out to the side like Mojo:Mondo do like a acting surf gate.

Well this cost me $1000 installed (done myself). So let's hope it at least was worth that. Even though it is a manual system, it does provide a selling point down the road if I ever want to upgrade to Mojo or Craz. Still not sold on them, considering I only owe like 28 on mine now (bought new). They want like 70k for Craz and will only offer me 40 for my 13 which has all the upgrades.

You'll be pleased with the wave. My wife and I surf opposite sides so my hope was filling it all even or relatively close to that. So from that point I'm a little let down after seeing all the automated systems now. I'm biased of course but I think/hope it will provide some selling point as well down the road.

Yeah I ride Goofy and of course everyone else rides left. But my right side actually has been cleaner than port side which is good. Looking forward to testing it out though once it warms up to see what this will do for my wave.

I have the manual flow on my LSV and have found it creates a wave equal to when we used to over weight one side. It took a while to get tuned in though. I ended up running a lot of bow weight and found the best setting was actually as horizontal as I could get the plate, usually resting against the top pin, before it got to any of the 3 set holes.(if that makes sense). We run 900 on surf side, 750 on other.

I understand what you're saying. It is why I don't understand why the LSV sits different then Mojo/Mondo. It makes more sense to go out to the side then down into the under part of boat.

This thread is almost 2 years old—suckgates like Nauticurl or a dozen others have changed this conversation entirely.
