Pretty happy to be able to kick this month off from Iowa. We got a mid-70s day with some high-40s water temps so I thought I'd skip the dry suit.

Pretty legit but I think I am going to call that 40s water temp into question...

I'm just going off the boat water temp gauge but this seems to agree. Whatever temp it was, I'll bring the dry suit next time! 😎 http://waterdata.usgs.gov/ia/nwis/uv?site_no=06604000

I'd say you got more stones them me bro, but I am thinking you got no stones to be in that cold of water LOL.

I have been in 54 degree in trucks and I said I would never do that again.

I was in high 40s water last Jan with a Wetsuit and when my face hands, and feet got wet, whey hurt LOL.

Hats off to you man.

January?! I was hoping for a dry suit run Dec 1st if the air temps stay reasonable. But I think January would require us to chip a hole in the ice first...

Holy crap - I cant believe you could even ride if the water temp was < 50....
I would be in complete hypothermia....

A little footage of our last couple rides in the Craz before the season ended. Nothing special but fun. MIGHT get it out one more time...we will see
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bpATdKmeM9k

Most the video was from a few weeks ago when air was 75 and water was still 65, the last couple shots were last week and it was 58 air and 57 water, that was a touch chilly but still a lot of fun!

Looks like a good time. And nice boat! How is the wakeboard wake?

I think it is impressive, especially coming from the 2006 Tige 22V we had. I only rode it a couple times as 99.5% of my time now goes to surfing but it was a pretty damn big lip and its a wide wake at 65' out. I didn't have the full 1100's filled in the rear when we rode but it scared a buddy of mine pretty good at 75% full.

Unfortunately my pics are the boat leaving the storage facility for "Hopefully" the final time. Our dock and lifts are supposed to be completed this winter.

Have to double line those if your drinking bottles. They won't stay tight otherwise.

So the weather is the Portland/Vancouver area has been basically pissing rain for the last 3 1/2 weeks. Painful. And Daylight Saving time has killed any chance of going out after work. I didn't think it'd pan out but yesterday morning I was having breakfast and the forecast said it was "AM showers" and sure enough it rained while I was sleeping in (thank you Veterans for your service and my holiday) and then the sun started peeking through the clouds. I had resolved myself that I wasn't going to get any more water time and planned to just use my holiday to winterize the boat. But I was stoked that we were treated to one last ride!!!

I text a buddy and sweet talked the wife and we were on the water a little after Noon.

Air temp was about 52 and likewise we had a 52 degree water temp! So prepped with winter gear, we enjoyed some sunshine on the water!

Look, blue skies can exist in November in PDX!

I was nice and cozy warm in the drysuit. Here I am looking like I'm "walking like an Egyptian"

also took another run on the Lakewakes Hooligan. it's an interesting board. it's a surf style that has a little of the feel of a skim (as far as the thickness and how deep it sits in the water).

so when the wife said she'd go out on the boat with us, she told me that she'd go BUT she was NOT getting in the water. A little later I told her that I had the boat loaded up but since she said she wasn't surfing that I took her board out of the boat. I told her that I wanted to double check with her on whether her surfing was "probably not" or if it was "no way in hell". She said to throw her board in the boat, just in case.

She was still unsure of surfing as she'd never done water cooler than would require a heater jacket she neoprene shorts. And she'd worn a drysuit.

However, I'd bought some booties that would fit her and she had picked up some really nice neoprene kayak gloves so she had all the gear. Sure enough she stepped up and decided she'd take a ride.

Her first time in a drysuit with "marshmellow" status:

And her lovin' life and making many of our friends think we're crazy.

She'll be picking up her own drysuit this winter. :-D

Couple of pictures from last weeks boys trip to Lake Powell. Air temp was 55 and water temp 65. Beautiful and sunny. We found a pumpkin along the shore and decided to grab it.

are you wearing the drysuit for the air temps? Because we're 65 degree water in the middle of summer and that's maybe just wearing a heater top. :-)

I don't pull out the drysuit until water is in the mid to low 50's and even then people call me a wimp.

yea, for air temp. 55 air was the hottest it got. low 40's in the morning and again as the sun was going down. Didn't want to be in a wet swimsuit. One guy was in with just his suit but the rest of us were using the dry suits. I think the water was closer to 60 at best but 65 is what they had posted on the weather forecast piece of paper at the marina.
