I just called Wakemakers about trying to getting a bigger sweet spot behind my 07 OBV. He basiclly told me i am at max capacity with the ballast. However, he told me hang in there a few months and they should have a new product called the wave shaper. Which is a block you velcro to the rear corner of the boat. He said he believes the cost is going to be in the $600 ballpark. It is supposed to be similar to the Malibu surf gate. It seems like a cheap surf gate option for older boats that doesn't require drilling into the hull. He told me they just got a preview of it but could not provide anymore information.

Have you tried to build your own gate? It would most definitely help, would cost you just a fraction of that $600 and would probably produce about the same results as that shaper. I did it on my '13 OBV and it was well worth the $60 I spent...
I remember a thread here around 6-8 months ago where someone was doing that exact same thing. Talking about a mold to create the "triangle" then Velcro it to the transom. They said the Velcro held. It would be interesting to see.
