Hi all. I decided to make my own version of a surf gate. I have about 36% of angle with gate deployed. I am planning on doing some testing this weekend and will record it for anyone who is interested. Any questions drop me a line.
Thanks.

Does the gate go past 0 degrees from the hull? Meaning does it angle beyond the hull.?

I think that will work. The gates don't like to be submerged. So, either keep the top of the gate above water or increase the height of the gate. You will know what to do as soon as you start testing.

Looks great and definitely interested in your test results. Especially how the boat handles with the gates in place permanently as my OBV is a bitch to maneuver when my ghetto gate is on.

I believe this is the picture your looking for. It does extend out past the boat.

We shall see. I have it wired to the accessories switch on my boat so when the rider fall I just flip the switch and it closes or pulls the tab back in to the closed position.

looks great , from that view point looks like an extension of the hull. I found that to be the best wave vs a 20 degree angle .

you flat transom guys are lucky, think you may have to flip the gates over from one side to the other if water goes over the top when deployed and that may help it not be a rudder at the same time

Hey PMan just curious if you got a chance to try your surf gates out and what the results were.
