4 blade equivalent to 3 blade

Hi

I have a 1998 Mobius with the Indmar 5.7 315 HP carburated engine and my original propeller its a 13x13 3 blade nibral prop, and it works fine for me, but I want to buy a spare and I wonder what would be the 4 blade equivalent to my actual propeller? a 13X11 will work, will I get more holeshot of top speed with it?

I ski with Vince and frequent SKIDIM they have a wall of props in stock and he can certainly look up your boat info to get you the right options for a 4 blade equivalent. I have an Outback '04 with the Indmar 5.7 and it has the 4 blade 13 x 13 with the 1" key hole slot. I am pretty sure that my transmission is the 1:1 ratio. Eitherway, when you are ready to purchase I would definately call Vince. Good Luck

Are you sure you have the stock propeller? My 99 Mobius with 5.7L carb came with a 4 blade OJ Legend, 13x13. I went to Acme and they had a 3 blade, like a 13x11 I think, that they recommended. Bottom line with them is you tell them your boat/motor and they will tell you which of their props to use.

Everyone raves about Acme so I bought one. Not sure I notice the difference, but at least it is no worse.

Yea, I would call the prop manufacturer. I replaced my 3 blade w/ a 4 blade recently because I trashed my original one on an unmarked shoal. Since OJ supplied the original one, I just called them and had a tech guy give me his recommendations. The size will also depend on the type of prop. I had a cast 13x13 3-blade, and I think I ended up with a cast 13x13 4 blade. However, if you get a CNC cut prop (which are really nice but cost a bit more) the size is different, like a 12.5x11.5 or something like that. So I would definitely call them. Also, they say that a 4 blade has less driveline vibration that a 3 blade, which is always nice.
