Lets see everyones lsv waves with out the flow, this is my first year with vdrive boat and new to surfing. 13 lsv 900's in the rear and 550 ibs up front. Here is my wave at the moment still trying to get it dialed in as we dont have experienced surfer to give us tips. For those of you with pics lets hear your setup thanks agaib

Move your front foot forward towards the edge of the board. Don't cheat, your using the rope, you should only use it when you fall of the wave to bring you back into it. Hold the end, search for my other posts about the tetter totter..

^^ what he said. Best advice i got when i learned, was when you lean forward you're "on the gas" and when you lean back you're "on the brake". and widen your stance to make these two things easier to do. when you lean forward (towards the boat) youll shoot right up to the swim platform. lean back (away from the boat) and youll go to the back of the wave... Also if you put your feet closer to the wave (instead of centered on the board), youll cut into the wave better.

I have flow now, but this pic was from last year with no flow. We had 1100 full on the passenger side rear, 400 in ski locker. Two people in the bow and everyone else in the middle or on passenger side. Wakeplate was mostly down. Speed was 10 mph. Wave was good, but small pocket.

no pics handy, but am having a dilemma, last year I was producing a decent wave, just a small pocket. With 800 surf side ~400 non, ~400 ski locker, driver only on board, wake plate middle. So this year now have 800's in both rears and 550 IBS plumbed in. Same scenario, 800 surf side, ~400 non, ski locker full IBS full, driver only, the wave just doesn't want to form, very washed out, no curl and hardly any pocket. If I had 4 more people with the same setup as above wave is decent, still not much curl and still small pocket.

After all the work I put in to plumb in the IBS on it's own thru-hull I was hoping for something more.

What am I missing? Any ideas would be great.

This was last October:

Went out yesterday, had the best wave we've had all season and besides ballast, only the driver was on board. 20960

Thats a decent wave, i think you need more ballast up front tho to make a longer wave. Parrothd might be able to help further but thats what i would try. Thats def good enough to have fun with no rope tho!

RE^^^^^^ I added 750 IBS this year and it definitely lengthened the wave and the pocket.

This is ours off the LSV. Passenger side full, driver side 50% and ski locker full. 4 people in the boat. 1 up front and 3 on surf side. Wake plate 80% up. And 10.5 on the perfect pass. Smallish pocket so I think some more tinkering is needed to lengthen it out.

Are you guys finding the best results slamming the one side and bow, or are you running some offset weight in the drive side rear locker aswell?

I made a ghetto gate out scrap wood, then i fill everything, with about %50 less on the non Surfside. I have 1100s in the rear, center, IBS, and under seat bags.

Not the best perspective to gauge the height, but my '13 LSV throws a nice long, clean wave. I also have a ghetto gate, and no noticeable lean to the boat. 22633

Have any pics of your ghetto gate?

I got the basic idea from this thread: https://forum.moomba.com/showthread.php?26284-RMK818-Single-ghetto-Gate

My hull is a little trickier with all of the curves and slants, so I didn't try to make a reversible gate, but it folds up pretty flat for storage.

Not to crash the LSV thread, but I didn't match the contour on my OBV either and I expected some spray but there is NONE!!

Wave from the LSV's older brother. About 1,000 surf side, 1080 full in the center/basement, 400 on surfside floor/seat, my 14yr old driving, her BFF and my 12yr old son on the surf side.

We ride rivers primarily and have to adjust PP (GPS) a few mph +/- for the current whether we're running up or down stream. I've noticed the wave is a bit taller running up stream regardless. Something to keep in mind when dialing in.

I have yet to build my ghetto gate but would certainly welcome a bigger badder wave vs. a big bad payment!

Bought my cutting boards from Sams last night. Time to start fabricating. Planning to build a single gate to use on both sides.

I use a cheapo vise grip to hold it in place via the bow eye(??), no straps... :)

Okay, built a ghetto gate, it did something, but not sure how much. Goofy side much better than regular.

Same surfer, same ballast setup. I'll take pics of my gate and post them up.

When everybody is saying wakeplate up or down where do you guys run yours? And by up you guys mean the plate is closest to the platform and while down it is driving it ways into the water?
