Does anyone have any "must have" GoPro mounts for the boat??
Looking for recommendations.
Thanks in advance

Suction cup mount for on the transom. I use a scuba dive lanyard to secure it to the transom eyes as the little floaty won't keep the camera with that mount above water.

I have mine mounted under the tower light and ran a power cable to it.

I like to use these RAM mounts (https://www.rammount.com/part/RAM-B-202U), they allow a little more adjustment than the standard ones and offer huge amounts of other accessories. My CONTOUR camera uses a 1/4-20 thread on the bottom of the waterproof case but RAM sells gopro adapters. Their suction cups are much better than the standard ones and the twist lock seems to hold harder as well. I also prefer to use the hard mounts with either the 1/4 inch threads or the base I linked to over the suction cups but if you don't want to drill the suction cup or adhesive mount is the way to go. Either way, always use a tether!

I use suction cup with a shoe lace for the boat, handle mount on the rear grab rail works too

Um, I used a simple curved surface stick on mount on the rear corner (surfside). Simple and effective.

Sure, I have the Ram-mounts suction mount too, but never use it. Of course, the one I use ALLLLL the time is the all plastic telescoping pole with the tripod to gopro mount (the telescoping pole has a standard 1/4-20).

I bought a "roll bar mount" but the bolts on it aren't quite long enough for the 2 3/8" rad-a-cage tower.

I also threw a curved surface mount on my helmet. my buddy has a surf mount on his surfboards, although that's only worked with varying success. the cam typically twists and is filming his feet.

There new spring clamp with goose neck has replaced most of my other mounts. It's rock solid, no tethers needed. I clamp it to the gunwall of my Laser Racing Sailboat and drag it in the water all the time without issue

I was wondering if the auction cup would stick well, it sounds like it will. I will get one tomorrow and give it a go this weekend.

Suction cup is rock solid. With that said we still run safety line as we've had the rope tangle in it.

Yep same here just this past weekend. Rookie rider wasnt paying attention and the rope just popped it right off into the water

I just use one of the stock ones on the tower with the peel and stick clip mount. Underneath the tower light..

Then flip the up/down filming option on the camera so everything is right side up.

I also leave the remote plugged into the cigarette 12v power so the batteries don't die while we use it..

I've got the Wakeye XTG and it works well for slalom off the ski pylon as well as off the tower mount as well. It comes with a few rubber pieces with 3m adhesive backing so you can apply to to the mount to get the correct snug fit on each pylon. The ski pylon has a smaller diameter so I ended up putting electrical tape around the biggest rubber piece [the adhesive alone won't suffice based on the thickness of the rubber] on the tower but there is little other effort required. Wakeye mentioned getting the extended boom but so far the stock works for my purposes.

Yikes. I think I need to start putting the life jacket door on my gopro. I have been running w/o a life jacket on the gopro because with the 4 silver, the life jacket would block the touchscreen. But losing the whole cam would suck SOOO bad.

this works well for the tower and is pretty cost effective:

we use this on the top tube and/or on the side for different angles.

Thanks for the tip. I ordered basically the same thing, but with the 360 degree rotation:

I used the chest mount while river rafting on Friday. worked pretty well. Here's a chest mount video that I took on Friday of me guiding our raft down a class 4 rapid and getting ejected from the raft: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=07i6ioRQjBk
