I know I'm a big guy but it always seems like I'm right on top of the swim step when I'm riding. Seems like I have no push farther back in the wave.https://vimeo.com/131503179

I wouldn't say it's you, necessarily, but your video came in sideways, so it was hard to gauge.

Having said that (without any data), I would suggest that your wave is to blame. Add more bow weight and create a longer pocket.

Watcing your video the wave doesn't look like the picture you posted in another thread i just read. There is a younger thinner guy in that pic but the wave is tall. Your wave right there looks a little flat.
When you fell of the wave it was looking a bit short also, unlike your other pic.

Watching the video it logs like you have good board control. Now on my wave behind my boat i would tell you to stop F***ing my wave and make love to it. As in slow your movements downs. Surfing is a fluid continuous motion like making love. Lol.

Try letting the rope out and instead of the constant slashing back and forth try just working the board up and down only using front and rear for pressure, not side to side with your hips.

Side to side tends to slow boards down. They are designed to gulp water under the nose then thrust it out the rear. Think of how a dolphin uses it's tail.

Try that and see of you can post a video of your wave with out you on it, then right after that with you in it.

But honestly i do like your board control, your grinding the hell out of it lol

Curious, how fast were you going?

It's hard to tell in the sideways/squished video, but it looks like your feet might be a bit close together. Try experimenting with a wider stance, that gives you more control of the fore/aft weight distribution which is key for speed control. At your level, I'd recommend pushing your comfort zone with a way-too-wide stance for a while and then find "just right".

Not sure why the video came out like that....

I have experimented with wider stances.

Going about 10.7 there.

I really cannot tell from the video on where your back foot is but you might want to try moving both feet forward on the board. Also where are your feet from your shoulders? I would also work on moving up and down the wave with the rope so you can get a feel for where you are losing the push. I would be interested to know how far you can get back on the wave. I also noticed you are running the WP at 100% in another post?

Instead is slashing so much learn to pump to help you recover, can't really tell from the video what the wave looks like, but seems really short.
