Engine Overheat

I have a 2012 Outback V. My engine overheated yesterday and the engine did not sound an alarm or go into safe mode. Anyone know why it would not have shut down?

Engines are not designed to shut down due to Over Heating, unless you lock the engine up completely. They go into Limp mode to protect it from certain conditions.

Even most cars will not shut down due to over heating.

It might have given you a check engine light or something but there is no alarms on these boats for anything.

Have you replaced the Impeller? On a 12 Boat that impeller is pretty fare past its replacement date.
