So as some of you may have heard Blue Bell (the best ice cream on earth) had a problem with listeria and shut down all their factories and recalled all of their product. Well ever since this occurred God has been crying over Texas (Blue Bell is based out of Brenham, TX) and we are about to drown in his tears. The rain this year is ridiculous and there is a huge front moving across the state yet again. We have lakes at 200% capacity. I think Texoma is at 400%, dams are dumping water as fast as they can in fear the water will wash out the dams if it get any higher. You hear about the water they lost in California today? 50 millions gallons, yeah, lake Conroe is releasing that every 12 minutes.

Blue Bell, please start making ice cream again. I want the rain to slow down so I can go wakeboard....

In DFW we had another 3-8" of rain last night. We have a road by our house they say won't open for another month due to flood waters now covering; although that was before the rain last night. The road is now part of lake Lewisville.

This was a picture of the old bridge from last week. Water is now covering it (as well as the new main bridge next to it.)

This old bridge even has its own Wikipedia page, and hard to believe this was in use until 2001: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old_Alton_Bridge

I live 1 mile from that bridge and my kids play soccer next door. Yeah they said (before last nights monsoon) that texoma came up 25 feet in less then 30 days!!! That's insane. Some of the lake won't even be open by the 4th of July weekend.

So Dylan, we aren't that far apart at all. This was another interesting article that was posted about lake Lewisville last night - before the monsoon. By my math, the lake will hit the first level of major flooding by 5:45 tonight (and we have more rain coming). What is really concerning is this lake is what is keeping downtown Dallas from flooding.

That is interesting. I wonder how close to I35 bridge it is or will be. Have you been across it in the last few days woody929? Another thing I thought was interesting is how possum kingdom was (before last night) .5 feet low and they are releasing tons of water into the brazos, witch is already in trouble. My buddy told me it was a preventive, that dam couldn't with stand a lot of pressure.

I haven't been over the 35 bridge since all of this started, but I did hear it mentioned on the traffic report this morning where people were rubber necking over the bridge due to the curiosity of the lake level.

In our neighborhood we've had 5" + of rain in the last 36 hours.

This is a dam at the end of the golf course pond. Normally it is 15'+ from the top of the dam to the water below.

That then flows into a creek that flows into the right side of the picture Dylan posted above. This picture is of a hike/bike trail that runs close to the creek just down from the dam. This was snagged off of a FB video sorry for the blur.
