any idea how fast can I run with the gate in place
--its flush with the side of the boat-not angled out at all
sorry to hijack.... I noticed in another thread that you ran a piggyback tube sac for a summer. I was about to tackle the same project, but was curious if you like the gated wave better than the listed wave with the bag under the port seats?

csm, not 100% sure yet, only ran the gate once but liked the results so far
Boone, thanks. going to be on a big water lake in a couple months and will need to cover some distance to get to beer and pizza for lunch a couple times. Thinking about a quick release mod for the actual gate

Stacy, just use snap hooks on the end of the turnbuckles.. Also use two turnbuckles of different lengths from the eye hook, no real need for the racket strap , it stays in place pretty well.
I had one side of the racket strap,( no racket) And just tried it off, it went slack and one turnbuckle held well.

I just use one single turnbuckle with clips and it doesn't move at all.

Oh, my gate is strapless, just 2 turnbuckles, its just the whole thing is large and takes up a lot of room. Being able to remove just the rudder portion would be so much easier

put a hinge on it and when travel flip it up and over onto the plat form. and a locking device on the bottom, when in place
