Does anyone tow with a 3/4 ton suburban with the 6.0? If so how does it tow? What kind of mileage do you get running empty vs pulling?

No but I tow with our 05 Yukon Denali with 6.0L. Pulls like a dream. Usually gets around 12mpg towing and 13mpg stop and go city driving.

Thanks Viking. Looking at changing tow rigs. I know nothing will pull like my 13 power stroke, but I need more room.

I used to have an 07 Yukon and it would get 11-12 city/hwy mpg. Can't remember what towing mpg was. Terrible mileage in my opinion, but a nice rig.

Might want to look at the 6.2 in the Yukon XL or Esclade

I tow my MOJO with a 13 Yukon Denali, 6.2L with no issues. Hills are no problem. GPM not so great, but that doesn't bother me to much.

Get your PowerStroke converted into an Excursion.

Towed our Outback with a 1999 2500 7.4L. If memory serves correct, mpg was somewhere around 10, whether we were towing or not. Expensive to operate but the interior room and comfort were great. Excellent tow vehicle.

2005 Yukon Denali XL w the 6.0, 10.5 - 11 mpg towing. Not much better without a trailer.

I use a '12 1500 suburban to pull my 13 lsv about 40 miles each way. I get 11 towing, and 17 mixed driving. You can tell the boat is back there, but I have no complaints.

Thanks for the replies. I'm looking into the 6.2's in the Denali and Escalades.

Max power, I had already looked into the conversion, very pricy.

Also talked to a local speed shop and they can do a custom tune on the 5.3, 6.0 or 6.2 to change the shift points and the torque curves to allow for better pulling, along with the regular bolt on intakes/headed and exhaust.
