Changed the oil on my 2015 LSV this weekend. Full drain, then added 6 quarts. I checked it on the trailer and on the lift. Neither are noticeably higher on one end than the other and I had no spillage on the fill. After 6 qts I had nothing on the dipstick. I'm at a loss. My manual says the capacity is 6 qts???

Could have the wrong dipstick in it.

That's what I was thinking, but the boat is brand new. Seems unlikely the engine would come with the wrong dipstick.

most accurate oil reading is sitting in the water. Try that and then troubleshoot!

I don't have a Raptor engine but I did change my oil in the 345 Surf engine < 7 quarts > and on the trailer it read slightly above the full and once the oil filter fills I know it will be perfect.

It should read up to 1-2 quarts low on your dip stick as well.

I would look into a new dip stick, maybe take it to the dealer and compare with another 15 model

This is a great idea. If the dealer is real far away I'd be tempted to add up to 2 more quarts and see if you get a reading. These have remote oil filters so they do hold some oil. If you get oil smoke when you run it, then drain some out and keep looking for the issue. You might also think about calling a service or parts person and getting a length measurement for the dipstick. Or maybe somebody on here can help by posting a measurement of theirs? Hello? Anyone? Please help him out.

Let's be careful about posting measurements of your dipstick and certainly no pics. After all, this is a family-oriented forum.

Walked into it? Nah. I set him up perfectly-- right out over the plate.

Always nice to see the pitcher purposely give up a home run

For you canucks that's like an empty net goal.

Or just call your dealer.
