Would like to install sub and enclosure on my 2014 Mondo. I want to keep the foot rest. I have a heater (Quebec temperature!!!). I'm sure I have the room...

Is free air sub would be the solution?

Anyone has installed a sub enclosure with heater in the way?

Thanks

free air sub is never going to be as good solution as a sealed or ported enclosure. Just sayin

Lengthen the water hoses and mount that heater on the wall.
You'll have all the room you need.

That factory 10" kicker sub I have was mounted only to a panel under the helm and would clip and sound terrible. I bought a cheapie sealed enclosure for it from Best Buy and the difference is incredible. Almost like it was a different sub entirely. Tight bass, loud, like it should be. Actually makes me scratch my head wondering why the factory doesnt throw in an enclosure?

$$$$.

Its amazing how much quality gear, like speakers and woofers, are poorly utilized due to cost. Unfortunate, this often leads to OEM gear getting painted with a chit colored brush, because of said poor utilization and tuning.

20 bucks on a 70 k boat especially when you are paying for the upgrade 2x retail, ridiculous

Couldn't agree more. A little forethought and maybe consultation with the audio equipment manufacturers would make for much better "out of the box" audio packages.

Its really a case of you can lead a horse to water, but cant make him drink. The bean-counters usually take the plan from the engineers and trim it down where they can.

I have a 13 LSV and mounted a 10 in sub with box on the board next to the battery charger under the glove box. I want to move the sub because the seats and such block a lot of the thump from the sub. Any suggestions? Cut a hole under one of he seats and mount the sub? mount the sub under steering wheel in that removable panel near heater?

My stereo shop built a custom vented box for me behind the wall under the steering wheel behind the panel that still allows for all the heater tubes with the sub pointing to the front. The little 8 inch JL vibrates the entire boat. I would totally recommend that location.
