Impeller has a small leak. Boat was running idle for 5 minutes. Can you check or change impeller with boat in the water? Action water sports in Portland put this new impeller in when I had them inspect the boat before purchase. Only put 3 hours on boat since purchased. Wondering if just a tightening of bolts will fix?22052

yes it can be done on water.
I would make sure the bolts are snug and that the gasket is making a seal all the way around. Just be careful as the brass bolts are easy to strip.

Use a paper towel to find out where the leak is coming from. May just need to snug the nuts

Is the top housing bolt missing?

Thanks guys. The top bolt is not missing. The boat is at our cabin and will snug the bolts this weekend. Do you guys know the impeller part number for a 2008 lsv?
Thanks again for all your help

I'd take the cover off and check the gasket condition first. Those brass bolts are very easy to twist the heads off so be careful. Impeller p/n is Johnson 09-812B-1

Before you goto remove the impeller close the main intake water inlet valve.
