View Full Version : possible to paint the wake plate hydraulics?

The plastic bits (the hydraulic parts) that move the plate up and down are ugly and faded to almost a grey from black.. is it possible to paint these and make them look new again?

If your referring to the Piston, anything can be painted but you need to make sure there is clearance so the paint doesn't interfere with the operation.

If you're talking about the cylinder housing, I wonder if an automotive trim detailer would bring the black back to life. Might be worth a try before painting. There are many brands available all over.

yeah just the plastic housing.. looks terrible..

How did this come out? Did you try one of the trim detailers or did you jump right to painting?

Actually ran out of time and the boats in the water now. Will tackle in fall.

Wet sand them to get them the same sheen and leave alone.
