We have had some serious rain in our area lately (normally would be a good thing). Here are some pics of a few lakes near me. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/05/11/0b5ace1a2c5afe9647a5941ec2df4584.jpghttp://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/05/11/825860e6138d7a525b261b1a2776a0e3.jpghttp://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/05/11/eff367f09e853f21f1bf2125df44faba.jpghttp://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/05/11/58649d49b04b1fc407067b672b76a8c0.jpg

also, is there one in a lifetime kind of rain? or happens somewhat frequently? would insurance cover damage to those boat houses?

This picture was last week. We got another 2-6 inches (depending where u live) this weekend.

Moss lake by Gainesville. I'm headed out to ray Roberts in a bit to check on my boat. Mass flooding and more rain coming this week!

I wanted to go out this weekend for the tour, but didn't make it due to the rain. Today is likely to be our only break in 2 weeks. Lewisville is up 3.5' since Saturday morning (5.5' over full pool)

About time! Lake Bridgeport got 7ft but it's still -15ft :(

The reservoir capacity for the whole state has come up from 70.1 % to 76.6% in the last month and one percent since yesterday. We have not been out of the 60s in the last 2 years so yeah, we are getting a ton of rain. Even lake Alan Henry which is in west Texas has been low for years and now its above full and White River lake east of Lubbock where my grand parents live was completely dried up this time last year and now has 13 ft of water in it.

We're going to be taking your place up here with low water levels it looks like. This time of year in the past our ramp normally looks like some of those where the ramp is underwater and uphill to the dock. This year I wouldn't be surprised if the launch is un-usable by the end of July.

Hope all this high water doesn't draw out the gators down there...

He only has the gator problem down his way, up here you don't see them much. I was just looking at lake Grapevine (just north of DFW airport). It has come up 10' in the last 6 days, and still rising.

The high the water the more area the more places for the gators to disperse making them less likely to be seen. All the little creek and such are full so they will hang out there instead of the open bodies of water. If when the level gets low that you start to see them everywhere, everyone is fighting for the same real estate

Our ski lakes rose up to the bottom of the starting docks. That's a rise of over 8". The drains are working hard. Neighbor has a rain gauge and it only holds 5 inches of water............it's over full!
The fields are flooded and ditches were full too. It's a ton of water!

Today, the water level on Lake Texoma was 629.97, or 12.97 feet above the conservation pool. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers predicts it will top 632.2 feet by Monday without any additional rainfall. The area is expected to get additional rainfall this weekend and next week.

Even once the rain stops, we'll have to be on the look out for floating debris = bummer!

Do you live near Moss Lake? I grew up about 5 miles past Moss Lake in Sivells Bend. My parent still live out there. Small world.

I live in Denton, but we have tons of friends that have houses at moss. I will spend most of my summer at moss and ray Roberts.
