Thought I would share some pictures of my new install. I had new Exile cabin speakers, Exile ZLD, Exile BT, LEDs and cup holders installed in my boat. Due to me being overseas I had a guy do the install for me. He did an absolutely amazing job.http://i.imgur.com/zNFmwpH.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/XIjYMgE.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/sfXUqDw.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/5bEcp4g.jpg

Thanks Wolfeman131. June 13th can't come fast enough. It does kinda suck getting all this new stuff for the boat and not being able to be there to see it. lol.

How did you mount the LEDs on the Exile speakers?

https://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/led-wired-bolts/little-dot-smd-led-accent-light/639/

These are what was used for the cabin speakers (2 per speaker). They are mounted on the back of the speaker grill.^^^^

The link above is what was used for the tower speakers.

I can't exactly tell you how they were mounted because I had a guy do it for me, due to me being overseas. The LED cup holders I ordered from Nautique's web site.

I was wondering the same thing about the tower speakers.

I sent this link to the guy doing the install. Not sure if this is the route he went, but I think the tower speakers turned out amazing.

Thanks Trayson. I will also be having two Abyss mini starfish installed here soon. I think these will really be the icing on the cake at night.

Yeah, you're really getting it dialed in for sure. I mean seriously, you've got the stereo system upgraded to 'big boy' status. You've got the LED's done and the Gosurfassist is going to be nuts for the surf wave. ballast system is on point and the new surf platform will be legit. You've got the pimp wheels on the trailer...

You're gonna be running out of things to mod on your boat at this rate!!! (of course, I look forward to getting to that point myself, because as much fun as modding is, it's awesome to have that complete package and just enjoy using it).

So what IS left for your boat after all this? I can only think of a couple things you HAVEN'T done!

Hahaha... Ya its kind of been overwhelming with all the parts ordering and logistics of getting everything installed. All that I have left is getting the two Rigid duallys mounted on the tower facing backwards and a Rigid 20" light bar mounted on the front of the tower. The Z5 cargo rack should ship around the 13th and I will be installing that when I get home. I only get to use the boat for 35 days a year do to working overseas. So when I do come home I want it to be legit..lol.

That's a seriously condensed season! Of course, I'd be interesting to think about how many days I actually get on the water, spread out over spring/summer/fall. It's probably about the same. (okay, not really. If I boat 9 months a year I'd equal you by going out once a week and I average more than once a week).

Nice choice with the cargo bimini. I like mine. Although I've found that I'll probably be removing it for "party cruise" days like last weekend where we had 11 people on the boat and not one board touched the water!

I just hit it really hard for those 35 days..lol. Im really looking forward to getting the Z5 on the boat. It will be nice to be able to get the Surf boards out of the cabin. Im hoping its not a pain in the ass to get it installed. Ive got a question for you sir. As for towing with it. Do you have to remove it or what is the SOP for this?

I have the Monster, but they're pretty similar and the same concept. I know that both companies typically say it's okay to tow at 45 to 50mph with them up. I'm pretty sure that's to cover their butts and keep them from having liability for towing at "freeway speeds".

That said, I've towed with mine on at 60 to 65mph for about 8 miles at a time and it'd been fine. I always take the boards off of course. I never tow with boards up at all.

My cover attaches with a ratcheting rope that has a rope ratchet on the front and rear middle of the bimini. I added a "quick release" on the rope on the middle of the sides so that I can basically undo the cover from the rack without having to unthread the rope from EVERY loop of the bimini cover. That way I can take the cover off for more sunshine. (we don't get enough sun in the PNW as it is, so I hate having TOO much shade). I also added bungees on the frame so that I can put boards up without the cover being on at all. I'm pretty happy with my mod.

So that said, with the cover off, I have no hesitations of any towing speeds. With the cover on, I'm comfortable with the 50 to 60 towing speeds that I typically do for the 8 miles of freeway to my launch.

I also know that Mike Mandley had a Z5 and he towed at full blown freeway speeds with no issues. And Mandley doesn't drive slow. LOL.

ok cool. Its about 30 minutes to where we put in at and it is all hwy. I am a slow driver because I usually have friends and family in the truck and its just not worth risking everyones lives to get to the lake 5 minutes quicker. As my buddies little boy said one day to the lake, "you drive like an old man". LOL.

Mounting the Z5 isn't to bad, its mostly just aligning the clamps on the tower. Make sure you tilt the front down slightly. This will allow you to tow easily since it will push it down and not try to rip it off backwards.

When we had our LSV I would tow with it all the time, up to 65mph and never an issue.

I towed it several time 100-200 stretches, I worried about it the first year but after that I was fine. Just makes sure everything is tight, don't leave anything on it lol.

Some remove the cloth and just tow with the frame and that is the best way to do it, but I never liked dealing with it. I only removed it when I had to store the boat. I would remove all 4 pins, then flip it upside down as I walked to the Bow, then lay it flat on the grab rails and against the windshield.

For off season storage I mounted it on the wall using bike hooks.

Stay safe out there, thanks for allowing us the freedom to live like we do here in the States man.

mmandley- I appreciate the info on that and it makes sense to mount it with the front tilted down. Thank you for the kind words. God Bless America!

Motosno963- Dam right we put that Tori everywhere! lol. Its funny when I was in Iraq we got intel reports that Charlie was telling there Death Squads not to mess with the guys with the devil symbol (aka.. Tori) on there helmets. Haha. Yes I am a PC now.

Why did you decide to go with white on the cupholders? Wanted to break up the blue a little?

You nailed it Trayson. I felt like that would have too much blue.

I think mine will end up with that "too much blue". LOL. If I don't like it, I can always change up the cupholders. Those are the cheapest and easiest, since mine are gonna be DIY.

Yup everything can always be changed... I am really happy with the Nautique cup holders. I think they are a little bit more subtle then some of the others out there. Im really looking forward to getting the Abyss lights installed and seeing it out on the water.

Likewise. I've got some plans for LED transom lights that I'll be making myself. I'll be doing four of them and those four will be over twice as bright as the six lights I had on my last boat which were 30 of the SMD5050 chips each.

But once I got the boat in the water, I had to shift to "house projects mode" and we've been working on makeovers of 2 bathrooms, then we'll be redoing the flooring in 2 other rooms. Once the house mods are done, then I can shift back into crazy boat modding mode. LOL.

Rakkasan187

I could see how those house projects might put a damper on boat upgrades. But the house mods are prob a better investment...lol.

Well, the boat mods are an investment in "fun". the house mods are an investment in my wife's happiness, which in turn makes her super supportive of all my crazy passions, which in turn means I have more fun in the long run. so it's all good.

We ski/snowboard all winter, and boat all summer. We really save any house projects to the inbetween seasons. However, this year we've been able to extend our boating season so much that there was overlap, so a little juggling. But it's all good. I just prioritized my mods for the ones that were MOST important to getting me on the water (stereo upgrades, ballast upgrades, hydroturf) and other stuff will come over the summer (more LEDs, etc.)
