I just bought a new Wise flip up bolster seat to replace my driver seat on my 99 Outback. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Wise-Flip-Up-Bolster-Driver-or-Passenger-Bucket-Seat/23591200 The new seat does not have a removable cushion, like the original seat. Any ideas on how to mount ? Do I need to remove the base and do it upside down? Thanks

You would have to take the track off the boat and screw it into the bottom of the new seat, then mount the new seat (with the track on the seat) back onto the boat. The tricky part would be mounting the track in the exact spot for it to bolt back up to the boat. Hopefully you have some freedom of where to mount the track on the new seat.....

Thanks, I'll work on this tomorrow and let you know how it comes out.

Slides do not match up with "universal mounting board" or with base of the chair. Front lines up, but back is 1/2 inch off. I am drilling new recesses for screws today and will install. Thanks for your help.

Be curious how this works out for you. I've wanted a flip up bolster as well.

Seat is in and secure. Tough getting those long screws in the base with a stubby screwdriver! I put loctite on all threads when mounting the slides and a washer on the opposite side of the slide lever. (it causes a small bump in the mounting plate) It isn't as snug as the carriage bolts and nuts, but it should hold. Seat is very comfortable and it sits up a bit higher than the factory seat.

Pics or you never did it-- even though you will sit on it every time out.

Looks good and comfy too. Does it swivel?

No swivel. That would be nice. I may buy a new base this winter. I'll look into a swivel, as getting in and out of the driver seat has always been a bit tight, and this seat was not set up for the current base. Thanks for the suggestion.
