If I had an outboard, that's exactly how I would do it - if the beach were less crowded.

I used to beach my waverunner like that

Thats exactly how I do it, except I need two guys on the back. One grabs the prop/shaft and the other grabs the tracking fins just before we hit the beach. We have gotten really good at this method. We have only lost 1 and a half fingers so far.

That is the only way I've seen it done in Mexico. I have a picture I took last month and have been meaning to post it of someone wakeboarding behind a water taxi like that.
