I'm looking to upgrade my head unit in my 09 XLV and looking for something that will be able to use the factory remotes by the drivers seat and on the back of the boat. Any suggestions from those of you who have upgraded?

Anything Kenwood..I upgraded to one with Bluetooth. The remotes allow you to skip, start, play and volume if using Pandora or other apps on your phone for music..

You can use the current wiring harness, I think you might have to move the remote wire to the harness.. Pretty easy.

What feature(s) is the current unit lacking? 7 years old may make it tough to find a model that supports your current remotes.

There is no USB port on the front and it has no Bluetooth so we can adjust the volume from the remotes and the radio station (but we never listen to the radio) the only plug it has is for the head phone type jack so you can't change songs on your phone from it.

Last year I replaced my head unit with a Kenwood KDC BT558U. Was pretty much plug and play, remotes work, has Bluetooth and satellite.

Thank you, sounds like we may have a winner

we've been happy with it so far, hardly using all of the available features it has. Currently have the 6 in cabins hooked up to it without an amp and it puts out decent power.
