Every Axis I have seen has a solid black rub rail like you pictured. Up close I always thought it looked cheap, but agree on dark boats it does look decent. I think you'd lose a lot of the durability by painting or powder coating. Since it is just a plastic channel with a stainless insert, you should be able to remove the stainless and replace with black plastic. I saw a boat that used the open channel for LEDs on wake world.

That's the only one I've seen. I think if it was gloss black it would match the black accents perfectly.
Is it plastic?

Pretty sure Moomba used a black rub rail at some point?
I wouldn't think powder coat would work due to the flexing of the rail
It looks nice though.

I have a black rub rail on my 12 Mojo and hate it. Constantly having to clean the white paint off of it from my guide poles. I would much rather have the stainless rub rail. I actually may look into changing.
