So, I have a 2008 XLV and the paddlewheel has a brown wire that goes from the paddle wheel and connects into the engine harness, which is ultimately given to the Perfect pass unit to allow me to have water temp.
I'm in the process of wiring a new depth gauge that also has water temp, and I want to be able to tap the depth gauge wiring into the engine harness to get that temp lead to the depth gauge too.
I got this info from Perfect pass with the speculation that
normally Red/Black gets connected to the brown wire and Black/White gets connected to the white ground wire.
Can anyone confirm if that's correct? I know I could figure out if I had a continuity tester to test from the plug at the paddlewheel to the engine harness plug. I guess I could do a makeshift extension from one of the plugs and use my multimeter...
