boat was just shipped and found out they installed the 310hp carb mtr. the dealer says it's no big deal to swap to a 325hp efi mtr. would take about a day. they would swap the mtr complete. is this a good idea. what type of wiring will have to changed or am i going to open up a can of worms by having them do this.

plus 5, go ahead and get it done. you will not regret it. efi starts much better, uses less gas and the resale down the road will be better.

but that is just my input....

unhook bolts, shaft, cable & starter - then R&R.

you want efi.

He could have said I'll have a new one just like it next month with the other motor and you would never know.

I want to here from the gy that got a 340 by mistake:p

You all are forgetting that the EFI's have cruise control built-in and (I think) the wiring harnesses are different for the controls. Still a dealer can do it, but what the heck happend? It sounds like this was a mistake by the dealer or SC ? Or did you just not plan ahead and figured the base carb would be OK ? Getting the wrong engine is pretty rare.

Yes, get it swapped if that is even a question. But ask the dealer about cruise control (it should be added free if you do not have Perfect Pass already)
