What's a good price?

What would be a buy in a heartbeat price for a 2005 moomba outback In good condition with new carpet new upholstery, direct drive. 160hrs with tower. No extra options really just good running good looking low hour outback.

It's a little harder to sell a DD than a V-drive but at 5k if you can make it run it would be a good flip. The low hours will sell it if you get it looking perfect. Gotta be pretty quick about it cuz after July the sales really slow down.

Hard to flip a boat and make much of a profit as any major change brings more questions. An easier way is to buy good boats in a depressed market and move them to a hot market much like auctions on used cars.

The only way you make money boat flipping is doing the work yourself, and then you might break even.. Better to wait for a divorce/off season sale and have cash for a quick buy...

There is money to be made at this price. I would have to invest around 5k to get it right putting me at a total investment of $10k and the boat could sell for upwards of $20k so there definitely is money to be made. I would probably try to just get $15k for a quick flip...

Careful with your estimates. Personally, I don't think you can do upholstery, carpet and a trailer for $5k. I'm not sure you could do either the upholstery or the trailer for $5k.

I would be looking at it more like this my upholstery cost me $3,000.00 I took it out and putting it back in right now. I would assign another $1000 to it. I think flooring would not be a big deal I would say $1000 for material and time to do.
Trailer I would say $3,000 to $4,000.
So if it was my project I would have more like $8,000 to $9,000 in it. so $13,000 to $14,000 when done. I think at this it would be hard. (if it was a v-drive I would be all over it)
I sounds like you are doing the upholstery in your boat right now so you should know what that would cost.

yea prices around me are much less than where you are. my lsv is costing less than 2500 to do it all so i know it will be less for the direct drive.

A trailer can be had, but will it fit that boat? Carpet and upholstery for $2500 is pretty tough just for materials, let alone labor. At the end of it all, I'd be shocked if you could get it done for less than $6500.

the local shop uses good material and he retired from gulfstream doing insane jet interiors. im leaving now to drop the lsv off with him. ill post pictures of his work as soon as its complete
