View Full Version : Who runs the 1180 Gravity Games bag? Thoughts on it?

So one of my winter upgrades was the 1180 gravity bag. For a bag that was supposedly "custom" designed for the XLV and other skiers choice boats with the basement locker under the playpen bow, I was kinda surprised that it wasn't a better fit.

Mine gets pinched at the top/stern of the bag and pops the cushion at the bow. I really doubt I'm getting anywhere close to 1,180 pounds since it really can't fill to capacity...

Don't get me wrong, it's gotta be better than the stock 650.

So what are the thoughts from those of you that are using one?

Fill until it pops the cushion up, then drain a little.

I'll dig down there and straightened out the bag a few times a summer.

I would figure you guys with the bigger boat would have all the room in the world for it. I got it in the 21v and it will pop the seat up but I think it is pretty close to be full. I have a hard time getting enough weight in the front to counter act the two 750lb bags in the back and a couple of people. I look into the ibs and I do not think it would help much there is not much room under the seats for the sac.

Mine gets pretty full, mine stretched almost to the bow, there is a break wall in the way so it cuts some weight between the walk through and the bow center cushion.

It pours out the overflow, but it's pretty firm, never pops the seat in the bow though.

I think it was make originally for the supra 24

Hey Trayson, our boats are almost identical.

I was wondering if you have had time to test your surf wake with this set up? Can you more or less track in a straight line while producing a nice clean wake. I will be upgrading to these 1180 bags soon before the season starts. As it stands right now with the 400lb bags and a light load of skinny teens I have to run in a shallow curve to get a nice wave.

Just go ahead and get 1100 or 900 rear and the 1180 playpen if you want a decent surf wake. The boat takes a lot of weight.

Yeah, I can definitely drive straight with the 1180 center and the 1100 rear. It's a surfable wave, but honestly even with that I want more. But if you get those bags, you can most certainly have the 400 as a bag you can throw on the surfside seat for a bit more.

I think this is with a 650 bag in the front and an adult and child surfside with the 1100 bag.

Here's another example. Not exactly sure the setup here. But the most it could have been is 1100 rear, ~1000 front basement, and 400 surfside. I didn't think to document the ballast setup on my pics.

If you're asking me, I have an Acme 537 and I typically run the wakeplate at about 1/4 of the way down.

Pics or it didn't happen

The 1180 in my wanna be XLV doesn't pop the cushions - it may start cracking the fiberglass and separating the windshield when it's almost full, but the cushions don't lift.

Odd. my cushion popped it at the very front of the boat, where the basement locker gets less deep because of the locker sloping with the bow of the boat...

My bag is positioned toward the back of the locker (toward the stern).

Mine is in theory. it probably needs to be pulled back futher though. it's likely scooted a bit forward

You're probably slamming on the brakes too much.
