can you show a picture of how it mounts to the tower? Not sure if it will fit on my tower. If it does i would be interested.

Oval Clamp for crossbar.

It comes off though and can be replaced with whatever size diameter clamp you need and can be purchased direct from Samson.

so when you say it is an oval cross member clamp are you referring to this cross member that says Moomba on it?

YES exactly. The oval horizontal cross bar as opposed to the round verticle tower tube
If you look at my first picture in post #1 you can see it's mounted on the top horizontal cross bar
