Has anyone had any issue with these brackets??I cannot keep the platform tight, the bolts that are used to keep the platform tight are dinky and keep backing out. The platform rattles ever since I bought the boat.. Anyone else have this issue??? Fix???

They addressed the issue in 2014 by putting what the Supra has had for awhile,MMandley had his upgraded at his expense i believe, the small hex bolt is just to weak to hold the platform sturdy you can keep tighten them up loc tight them but they will eventually break just to weak, have tried stronger bolts washers behind it to no eval, mine is very sloppy and annoying when waves are hitting the boat when we are stopped,as long as the platform dosn't fall off i can deal with it,LOL

I have the same issues. The 14 and newer brackets are a better design.

I upgraded my 12 mojo to the new brackets and it makes a world of difference. Solid. Work with ur dealer. They should warranty credit the old brackets. You may need to pay for gelcoat work to fill in the old holes. I want to say it ran me less than 300. You will not regret it.

I had mine done as a warrenty swap as well, SC credited the cost of the old brackets, I paid the difference to the new ones, and the installation. One of the BEST upgrades I did to the Mojo.

Never had an issue with mine. Tell the boys to stop falling & keep surfing.

Problem solved.

Zero expense.

Have same issue with mine. In addition the set screw wore almost all the way through the first set of brackets. Second set were provided under warranty but they are the same brackets so I suspect this will continue. New design is light years ahead.

I guess I will talk to my dealer about this and see if a swap is possible..

It's possible. Be firm and express your displeasure. SC is aware of the issue and will make it right. If your dealer is not onboard contact SC directly.

Mike,
I have started this process for my 12 Mojo as well. Did your dealer re-gel the old holes in the hull where the old brackets were?

Yes did mine before the 14 season. Glad I did. Makes a world of difference. SC did a warranty swap on the brackets. I think I was out of pocket a couple hundred bucks and that was for the difference in the cost of the new brackets over the older brackets. Dealership did the gel work for nothing. Took less than a week to do. Swim deck is now super easy to remove and solid as a rock!

Yup they re Gelled it in, the White solicon is just so water can't get behind the brackets.

On the new Platform Braces they just put new holes in the swim deck, black silicon in the old holes.

So now I'm wondering if I should ask SS to do this when I get the Flow installed. It is really annoying when you're swapping riders and you hear the platform rocking in the brackets.

I'll probably have to get all new mounting hardware for the FAE though.

SC agreed to get the parts to me in a similar manner. My dealer quoted me 2g's for the gel work. Really disappointed right now. I am determined to get this done at a reasonable price.

I think the new brackets are closer together right? If so you could probably just take off the support bar and cut it down to the shorter length.

To be more specific, my dealer doesn't do gel work. The guys they use quoted 2000.

2K to re-gel 4 holes? That's insane! Be worth making a road trip to another dealer. Contact other dealers in your area that do there own gel work. Should only take a couple of hours labor!

So, mine goes in next month to have the new '14 brackets put on (as soon as I get it out of storage). I'll spare some of the details but I'm on the 3rd set of brackets since I got the boat... the platform wobble about drives me and my wife crazy... and we had some other issues with the brackets.

Anyway, SC has really been super helpful and they found that the new bracket will actually cover the old bracket holes. They are simply going to silicone the old holes in (3M 5200) and drill the new ones... no gel coat work required and only a couple hours of labor. My dealer didn't do gel work and the quotes I'd received from other people were astronomical. I'm still having to travel to another SC dealer to get it done but I'm willing to do what it takes at this point. I'm still not super happy SC isn't just taking care of this issue but they've certainly helped.

That is a good resolution as well. Too bad your dealer can't do it. I am going to talk again to my dealer and suggest they call sc on this issue and maybe they will do the same

The reason you are getting 2k gel quotes is because the default is to 're Gell the whole back of the boat so it matches.

You only need gel work if you want to fill holes completely. You can get away with silicon the holes. I had them fill it with fiber glass and gel over it. Just so I didn't have any holes.

Do not pay 2k lol

Even removing my Flow and getting all the holes filed and reglass the back of the boat was 1500.

Mike, why did you remove your Flow? Are you adding the Auto Flow. If so can you disclose your cost.

I still have it, that was a pic at the Dealer right after the upgrade.

I contacted FAE and got new mounting hard ware. I re-installed it after those pics.

Heres a Pic with it and the new swim brackets.
