I'll try to remember next time I'm at the boat.

put it anywhere easily accessible on the intake line before the water pump. Remember you are going to be hooking up the garden hose so make it convenient.

Actually easier and cheaper..

Home depot, garden section for the on/off thing, its a complete unit. PVC pipe section, threaded coupler, it's the wrong thread type for garden hose but it's close enough. It has a threaded insert and a the other end fits inside the cooling line hose, and hose clamp. I think around $10, I already had extra intake hose..

I only flush to winterize, you end up redoing removing raw water intake to drain..I use this to suck anti freeze from the exhaust..

I plumbed a tee and a shut off valve into the intake line, then used a hot water heater hose to connect the hose to. When not in use I stash the hose in the bilge and use a hose cap. You can also get a pipe thread to hose thread nipple so it won't leak at all. Makes it an easy job to flush and/or circulate the entire system.

My XLV has the Flush Pro.

I just went out and snapped a couple pics of my flush kit. it's inline, and because of the tight space, my intake makes a loop and comes in on the front side of the v-drive.

Pretty easy to run the boat off the garden hose.

On my Supra direct drive, I just had a T-Valve on the intake line.

It's a valve like this. then you just get barb connections for the intake line, and put a garden hose 3/4" fitting on the other. Inside there's an L shaped valve that will make it so that water goes from the intake thru-hull to the engine or from the garden hose to the engine.

I had the flush pro, it doesn't suck up anti freeze. :( I was always worried it was going to crack, I was a little to forceful on the install and heard a crack. Never leaked but didn't seem to sturdy..

I heard the flush pro didn't suck as well due to the spring inside.. That's why I built my own so to speak.

Were you trying to use it to suck up antifreeze or something?

I'm guessing I wouldn't have the same problems if I hooked it up to the garden hose that actually has water pressure pushing it through the flush pro?

I read that there is an adapter that they make for the flush pro that opens the check valve to allow it to suck up fluid from a non-pressurized source. Did you use that adapter?

Yes there is!! You are right sir.

The adapter allows you to pour, or use gravity, it doesn't allow you to suck coolant or anti freeze from a bucket.

My neighbor's boat had the Flush Pro mounted with a permanent hose fitting coming out the back of the boat. Because of the way it was plumbed, I was not able to install the adapter. I used a 12 volt utility pump with garden hose fittings to suck antifreeze from a bucket and force it thru the Flush Pro. It worked great.
