Usually most are made by now. Unfortunately around here the campgrounds fill up quick and reservations open up 9mo. before. Haven't made any yet so really behind the 8ball this year as we usually start booking weekends in October and November :(

Much the same as Viking. Campgrounds are usually reserved by now if you want to include weekends. I didn't do that this year but there are other camping opportunities where there are no one around so I plan those the week before based on the weather forecast. It seems like not many people are camping when the temperatures are in the 100s and no electricity. I call it ideal.

Same situation with reservations here. We've only locked in one long weekend so far.

I think we're going to have a busy summer otherwise so maybe not a big loss.

Already have Labor day and a weekend in July booked. Like they said, 9 months on the reservations. Also have the day off for Portland's Wake the World in June. And have the rest of that week off too for some Stay-cation maybe.

We have to plan our year well before the end of the existing. have to coordinate campground, visitation schedule with my son, and request time off at work for both my wife and I.

I live in Florida. The water temps are still in the 70's. Every weekend of the year is a fun filled Moomba vacation, so I start planning the next weeks adventure right after the boat is tucked away on Saturday night (wife works on Sunday).

well being in florida has not helped me at all this last year, I really think the last time my boat was in a lake was the end of July last year on our summer vacation at Lake Martin

Living in a ski community affords me the opportunity to ski daily if I so choose. I'm grateful for what I have and have worked hard to get. With that said I'm on vacation weekdays at 3:30 and every weekend! :)

LOL. YOU gotta make it happen - take advantage of what we chose to have!! Surely you can hook up with a friend or co-worker who would go out with you.

Maybe someone from North Dakota will trade locations with you :)

How's the daughter?

Just booked 8 nights at Greers Ferry AR for late July. Full weeks fill up fast after the first of the year.

We go to an all inclusive resort in Ontario's Muskokas region for a week and take the boat with us, we booked this past August for the same time period next year before we left. We also have a small cottage on a different lake booked for 1st week of July, which we arranged back in September. These two weeks will probably comprise 50% or more of our hours next year. You need to book well in advance at either place. The rest of our time will come from a dozen or so evenings or weekend afternoons between end of May to Labor day. The kids must get part time jobs this year, which may cut into our hours.

Ooooh, I love Greers Ferry. Mighty clear water there. I lived in Greenbrier, AR for 3 years, only a half hour or so from the lake. Used to hang out around Sugarloaf Mountain. Always easy to find some smooth water on any particular side of the mountain. Wish I could be there.

Dale Hollow is on my bucket list. Maybe summer of 2016 before #2 goes off to college.

It's a Great Lake and Labor Day weekend is probably the biggest party of the year, there was about 30 houseboats tied up at the boat races this past Labor Day, and a 100 or so boats anchored out

Where is Dale Hollow? Never been there. We do Smith Mountain Lake near Roanoke VA. Good time there too. Might like to try something different sometime.
