23k low retail to 26kavg retail on NADA that's before condition and hours. the interior looks pretty rough plus high hours at 750 I would think around 19500 to 20k but that's my .02

Just my opinion, and in the spirit of helping you make a sale... Your boat is the roughest 08 I've ever seen, of any make and model. And if the inside and outside is that neglected, what can I expect of the mechanical condition? Why would I buy a project boat that needs thousands of dollars and time invested when I can just put that money towards a comparable boat already in fair condition? Price is the only reason, and you are still too high unfortunately.

You either need to put a bunch of time and money to get it into fair condition (wetsand and detail, new interior just to start) or you need to sell it for much less money.

Sorry man.

He's had at least one offer, he just wants more.. :D

Nada means nothing, there's only a small number of people that would take on a project like this. Needs a lot a work and worse a lot of time.. Most boat owners just want to gas up and go.17-18k it'd be gone pretty quick..

If that boat was up here in the Pacific NW, it'd probably be gone by now. Yeah, it needs a full vinyl replacement. Beyond that, maybe an exterior detail. It's an attractive boat.

You're in the middle of winter. so just hold on, and it'll move as the weather changes.

thanks for the input everyone, i've turned down multiple 19-20k offers. i'm planning on redoing the seats professionally in the next few months and getting it detailed. what could i expect to get from it then?

I'd say that if you did that, you could likely list it at $25 to $28k. Maybe more if you got someone hot to trot. It's a great color and it's a fantastic budget v-drive for someone to jump into wake boats with.

I mean, while the hours are on the higher side, there's not so high as to completely kill a sale. I think the key will be to address the things that don't help the sale. Even the little things like replacing the rusty screws on the trim tab. And I'd remove the tower speaker covers for the pictures. They look tired and worn. It's fine to throw them in with the sale, but don't showcase faded out covers.

And selling during spring will yield MUCH better results. people just aren't motivated to buy this time of year unless it's a crazy deal.

Also, if you just have Moomba cruise, there was an ebay auction where they were selling the brains to upgrade it to the "pro" version that's just like perfect pass. It was dirt cheap for the add-on (Russ, one of the guys here did it) and it's a great selling point to have "real" perfect pass style functionality IMO.

ok great, i'm also considering a partial wrap to wake up the boring white sides. i know winter is a terrible time to sell but with baby on the way i know i wont be using it for at least a year. even with how it looks and the bad upholstery the boat runs great and i love it!

I am not a big fan of wraps. Most people do gawdy and way over the top busy wraps. the stuff people like in a wrap is highly personal and then if selling, people wonder "what are you trying to cover up".

good call maybe i will just have it detailed. the boat look rough right now from going the last few years without a really good detail but i have seen the boat sparkle when details so.... im thinking tax season and boating season right around the corner will help. also did a listing on ebay.

Agree that a wet sand and polish would be a much better investment than a wrap for purposes of the sale.

Has this been used in salt water?

Togan gave 20K for the boat with problems already as you can see in his post history but wants to sell it for more. In my opinion $3-5K for new interior and a $1500-$3000 wrap is not the way to go. Where would that put you when your are done, asking 30K? With 700hrs? Maybe what you thought would be a good deal to flip a boat and make a dime after a year didn't work out, just fix it up and enjoy it.

boat has never been in salt water. im not trying to flip the boat, i have right at 22k into the boat after buyeing and putting money into it replacing things and what not. im only selling because i have a baby due in 7 weeks and i know it will be at least a year or so before i would even use the boat again. i paid 20,500 and bought lots of stuff for it.

My hope is he would get more for it, I have a 2006 with 700 hours on it and wouldn't take less than 28k. I do have all new interior, GIII with 800's in the lockers, PP, new stereo and speakers, FAE etc.. There is a buyer for everything though, good luck. BTW also have child on the way, already have an infant life jacket, no plans to stop using the boat even with a new born.

You definitely can. We were back on the water a month after our first was born and we're hoping to do the same after our second is born in May. You will get tired of tripping on all of the baby gear that you bring until you figure out what works! Hint: bring someone along that wants to hold a baby more than they want to board/surf!

I have 3 and oldest is now 9. A bimini is a must to keep them out of the direct sun and in shade but we never slowed down a bit!!

Good interior, decent weight carpet and decent quality vinyl is close to 5k to have it done right, so worth it though.

togan9
01-12-2015, 01:48 PM
ill be leaving the carpet because it isnt too bad but im thinking it will be closer to 25-3500 for vinyl in my area but local shop

I realize that people have concerns from the pictures, but I think your pricing is in the neighborhood. Obviously, needs new upholstery, and some hours spent on the exterior. I paid approximately the same price you are asking for my boat. It had about 1/3 the hours and heavy exterior oxidation. The interior is not as bad as yours, but still needs replacement. If you can wait a couple of months, you will get what you want out of it, I think. If you are wanting to sell a boat in the middle of Winter, may have to be willing to take less. There are a limited number of used wakeboard boats for sale in a season, even in a big city like Atlanta. We overpaid for our boat a little, but it's not worth looking at boats all over the country to save a few thousand.

really want to keep but having issues with a house that im trying to sell and baby due any day now so..... if i dont sell im sure it will be in pristine condition come 2016 boating season but if i do ill just buy another one next year, my first wake boat and will probably be the only kind of boat ill buy from now on.
