What?!? Yes, we know it's early. But to get reservations again over a holiday weekend we need to book soon - like this month! So...

Prineville Reservoir State Park
Labor Day Weekend 2015 - Sept 4-7

This year was a blast, and next year will be even better!

We're looking forward to it. Yeah, I have a reminder setup in my calendar to get my reservation for my site 9 months to the day ahead of time. Competition for that stuff is brutal on a holiday weekend. But I can't think of a better excuse to camp and boat with Awesome Supra/Moomba friends. Wouldn't miss it.

We will be booking the trip. Even though I prefer our accommodations at 3 Rivers, you just couldn't beet the water quality, and temperature. I will however make sure I fill the boat Sunday. As Tuesday we assumed we could buy gas at the Marina but they where empty lol. We where down to 1/8 of a tank. When I did fill the boat up it was 44 gallons LOL

Booked Cabin #3 this morning for Wed to Mon.

Cabins #1 and #2 got booked yesterday by someone else obviously not from our group because they dont last through the whole holiday weekend.)

There are 1 or 2 cabins left for the weekend though, the ones that are on the upper loop.

Looks like 2 cabins (one is mine, cabin #3) are booked through Monday morning. Is The other cabin #5 that's booked through Monday anyone from our group???

The other 3 cabins are booked through Sunday morning, so that leads me to believe that they're not with us.

All the cabins are taken for the Holiday weekend now.

Think I just threw up in my mouth a little.

Not that owning the entire C-loop and then auctioning off sites to the highest bidders at the last minute isn't a brilliant strategy, but I'm kinda stuck with the condo on wheels not fitting in hardly any of the remaining sites available. Only 2 that look good are on top far corner of the B-loop. Maybe a little too close to the "stabbin cabin" for my taste.

I'm kinda wondering what the others are thinking about this weekend. Who's in?

I think Jake is in. Not sure about the Millers and Daikers.

89Prostar, BBuhtz, Jrobb, Cab?

Any interest on the Supra site? I don't venture over there.

There was one guy that expressed mild interest, but I honestly have no idea if he would come or not. He would be bringing his Supra up from Shasta. He has an Allegro which is a super rare old school Supra Direct drive with a cuddy cabin.

I posted up on that thread asking if anyone besides Beat Taco is gonna be there. Tyler (Diggs) already has commitments at Lake Billy that weekend as does another Supra person that was mentioned on that thread.

We are NOT going this year. Last year with the Dirt lots, and the over abundance of Ranger Bob and Jane bugging us and everyone else. We said we would only commit if we got a cabin. I had my calendar reminders set, my phone reminding me and everything.

2 days ago I heard everything was booked.

We will be going back to our classic Labor Day place, Lake Billy at 3 Rivers. We have 5 acres, 6 Trailers <permanent> private bath and showers. Plus a Marina that doesn't run out of fuel.

Maybe we can do a group get together sometime in the summer other wise.

We are with Mike. A cabin was a must. Not sure I can convince the Fam to sleep in the dirt. Not saying we are out but it is going to take some serious negotiations. Loved the water and boat slips. Didn't care for the dirt.

My buddy Desi is coming for the Jam. he'll be on my boat most the time, but he's getting a campsite and it's just him and his truck. He's even sleeping in the truck, so no tent. I'm sure you can crash his site pretty easy.

Oregon State Parks customer,

The Prineville Reservoir water level is way below normal for this time of year and the park has had to pull the moorage docks out of the water. As a result, we have to cancel your moorage reservation We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If you have any questions, please call Oregon State Parks at 1-800-551-6949.

Low is one thing. but if it gets too low for us to launch boats, that is where of course this whole thing goes into the toilet.

Having to trailer and launch every day is one thing. Not being able to launch would be completely another.

Prinville is at 55% now. It's going to be little more than a mud hole by September. As of right now we (my group) are discussing other options. I don't think we'll be going at this rate.

I have a buddy that has property at Billychinook and he said because they are holding water back with very little water in, that there has been an algae bloom that may have serious health risks associated with it.

Yeah, Lake Billy is definitely open and clear. Tyler was there and said it was some of the clearest he's ever seen.

I guess I'll just wait and see. there's a lot of time between now and then and if I cancel to early, we could definitely regret it.

Per the Reserve America policies, the real deadline for cancellation w/o any adverse effects is a month before for those of us with Cabins. So I put a calendar appointment for myself to revisit this on 7/31.

But please everyone keep us all updated with your decisions and suggestions.

Prineville is already ridiculously low. The latest report I got was that the gas pump at the private marina is on dry land. Just about all the docks that can be pulled have been. The park(s) are pretty vacant. At this rate it will be a big mud puddle by September.

There has been talk about a migration over to Lake Billy Chinook (aka LBC, The Cove) but no official details yet.

From what I can tell from the Map, its not to far from the Lake Right? I'm looking to see if can Moorage the boat for the 3 days there.

Well the old lady wants one more trip so it looks like we'll stay at three rivers unless I can find a full hookup spot in E or A loop.

So you can moor your boat at the state park's day use area/launch for $10 a night. it's not too far from the campground, but still would be a 1/2 mile hike. You would reserve moorage through the state park (www.reserveamerica.com)

Alternatively there's moorage at the Marina http://covepalisadesresort.com/

We will be up there, same place on land, same place in the water lol. We will be on the water Saturday Sunday Monday, trying to get final details for Steve to stay Tuesday.

We are always on the Metolious arm. We don't venture to the Palasades area.

Jake look forward to seeing you there, I'm sure your boys will want to do soda bongs with my crew again lol. They thought that was the best part of that day. A close second was when our females mooned you and the boys said (dam we are on the wrong boat again) wanting to see some skin lol
