Well, it's November 1 and Awesome when the one day it's not pouring rain this week happens to be a Saturday. Great opportunity to get out on the water. Thank goodness for drysuit/booties/gloves! Water temp was between 52 and 55.

My buddy was comfy in his full Hurley suit. I did the drysuit and was of course comfy as well. The wife chilled in the boat and wore her down puffer jacket! LOL.

We'll see if today ends up being my last day for the season!

haha, thanks. it's that in-between time of year where boating is winding way down and snowboard season hasn't started...

Was sitting at a soccer game freezing my butt off going "hmmm, I could be on the river right now..." when you were out.
Get that heater installed -then we'll talk.

Saturday is forecasted to be low wind, 63 degrees, and partly cloudy.

I won't have my heater installed before then, but I think we should make it happen!

Came home, unloaded most the gear from the boat. Don't think we'll get another day like today. Will winterize soon, Tuesday night it dips below freezing, so I'll have to do the shop light trick to buy me some time...

Have a metal carport being built soon, was hoping the boat will be put away under it for winterizing. might have to try to bust it out on Monday... (rain tomorrow)

Season is almost over for me. Drained the water last night but will probably take one more day to cruise the lake before completely putting her away and changing the fluids.

I already had the ZLD MKII and the ProSport 20 charger. Now I have an XM 30.2, a Javelin, and 4 SXT9's to play with. Let the install begin.

Thanks again Taylor and Brian.

We have rented at Gaston every year for a long time. Typically dont have too many stumps there, unless you get too far back in a cove.

That was the problem - my wife looked for a place to rent. Typical - price was right, good availability, nice boat storage and access - but something was off. I knew something was odd when all I saw were pontoon boats in this cove. But it was pretty far from the main lake. Next year, I think we'll get closer to the main channel or go to Smith Mt Lake.

Hey Trayson

I was wondering what the dimensions of your Monster Bimini are. I plan on making one this winter, with a few customized differences . If you could pass that on I would greatly appreciated it. Your color scheme is pretty much opposite of mine, I have white on the top.

I think Smith Mountain Lake is a great choice. Don't have to worry about stumps there. Water depth where we run is 65' average and have seen much deeper. We go there most every other weekend and rent a motel room on the water with dock. Love it! Let me know if you plan to go this summer and maybe we can meet up.

I can't remember if I have the small or the medium. I would think that I have the medium because I was able to put two surf boards up there with room in between them.

They are made for Monster by another company:

Per their website:

Actual Bimini Top Size:
Small 48"W x 65"L
Medium 60"W x 65"L

Out of gas money! Time to put it away and recover some funds so we can have fun next season. And by the time I get home from work it will be too cold for me and I don't like having to winterize every week lol

Got some gravel delivered and used it to get rid of about 1/3 of my grass in the back yard. In less than a week, I'm having a 21' x 41' metal carport built that will house the boat and whatever else I want under covered storage!

My friend had a little tractor so that was REALLY nice for moving about 9 to 10 yards of gravel.

The carport will go from the fence almost all the way to the house behind the 3rd bay. It will take off from behind the 3rd bay and go 41' back. (you can't see it too well, but I have a garage door on the back side of the 3rd bay) The carport will be tall enough to back the boat in with the tower up and have 1/2 walls on the sides from the top to the middle.

The area from the end of the concrete to the back flowerbed used to be grass and is now a 35' x 22' span of crushed gravel.
