Getting some coaching this week at Cory Pickos ski school. Awesome place to drop in for a coached set or many if you're in the panhandle!

Sweet! His son Adam was just at our lakes recently for a college tournament. The kid can ski too! Gee wonder why? LOL
Good to see others out getting coaching.
Any words of wisdom you want to share with what you were taught or w hat you need to work on?

Looks like you are behind a 200, how you like that wake?!

Love it - had so many PB's with that boat. I skied behind that and a ProStar 190 2014 same day. I didn't see much of a difference since I was -22 off but I heard once you get into deep shortline the wake is much sweeter. I like the N200 though - damn nice boat. Lotta $$ Couldnt' tell ya what was more fun - driving that thing or skiing behind it. It was that cool to be behind the wheel.

It was cold at my house this morning or so the internet feed told me. I travel home tomorrow so I'm hoping there is a chance to get in the water and go for a rip.
First rip in 3 weeks and now it's wet suit season. Oh well I'm still skiing! :)

Just got off the lake from skiing my first set in a month. Work - imagine that!
No pictures but the water was sweet and the rain and wind stopped for us to get our passes in!
Sure felt good! :) Hope to be back out there tomorrow weather permitting.

With water like this how can one refuse? Lucky it's not cold and I can get out and rip it up this afternoon! :)

In Negril Jamaica and took a slalom set a few days ago. Hope to grab one more before the trip home. This life is rough! "Irie Man"

Was Jamaica set inland or on the ocean? I skied in Belize once, but all that was available was a fat-boy ski , a water taxi, and less than ideal conditions. But at least I got to ski on salt water once. Actually taught myself a few things about keeping the ski engaged.

I've got a friend ( owns and runs that white/blue N200 in my prev pic ) that got a pull in Bermuda behind an older Nautique.

I remember skiing on Tortola behind a center console fishing boat in 10' of crystal clear turquois waters. Pretty cool experience when I was a kid. Strange the places we find to ski, but very cool to get outside the US and find some gems that hold some nice courses or water to swerve on.

I just lifted my boat up. Wasn't a great evening on the water as far as buoy count goes but it was another day on the water! :)

If you guys find yourself down this way you're welcome to look me up and go for a tug. Might not be tropical water like vacation spots but we can ski year round here.

I'm wearing a wet suit but there are still people skiing in the sun with only life vests on! :)

Thanks for the invite! That would be a fun trip. Many times my wife and I have thought of relocating to TX - just haven't pulled the trigger yet.
She's from Austin and her folks are constantly asking us to move to Marble Falls or close.

I counted some 12-13 ski sites near you - seems like it has a pretty big following yes? Do you ski at Able's Lake or Ski TX / other?

I live at Ski Texas Phase 2. We are the newest home to be built out at the site and we absolutely love it!
Currently I believe there are 9 or 11 different ski lakes within an hours drive of downtown Houston in all directions. We are straight south down hwy 288.
Sounds like you either have been down here or know where it is @SupraLaunch?

I have a google earth kmz file of all ski sites in the world - I'm on it every day unfortunately. It helps me map out ski sites in my state, but I have noticed CA/TX are among my favorites to relocate again b/c of the access to course & sites. I mainly ski on a public lake but tournaments are on private courses only. Ski Texas looks very cool!

It was in the ocean but bay was protected by a reef so really pretty calm. Boat was an open bow Mastercraft Prostar and all equipment was HO and really pretty good stuff. Skied on an older comp freeride and they even had Hyperlite wakeboards. Just slalomed a couple times though no boarding. It's amazing how bouyant the seawater is and how easily you pop out of the water.

In 2001 when I was on a honeymoon, I stayed at the Sandals Dunns River in Jamaica. They had a MC prostar 190 and I knew this so I actually brought my wakeboard & vest with me on the trip. I would wake up in the morning, walk down to the beach (the boat was just moored to an anchor line right off the beach) and the resort would have a driver swim out to the boat and toss me the rope. I would basically do a shallow beach start and ride right on top of the crystal clear ocean water. it was a trip to see the coral reefs below me.

When I got tired and was ready to be done, I'd motion for the driver to cut in so that I could get a good whip towards the shore. I'd get as much speed as I could and would end up in about knee deep water. I'd take off my board, wave to the driver thanks and go back to the hotel room to shower and then have an amazing all inclusive breakfast. It was pretty epic!!!

I can only imagine the insides of that poor boat though. constantly moored out in the saltwater... Exposed to the elements all the time. But it sure was a cool bucket list experience.

The guy in Belize had actually pulled a Nautiqe from Canada to Belize with the intent of starting a ski school down in Ambergris Cay. But the locals made that too difficult for him. So his boat has sat out in the sun on land for what had to be a couple years. Pretty much destroyed the interior and the gelcoat faded everywhere. He had hopes of restoring it but probably not done yet.

Definitely jealous. How is it being at the end of the course? Is there a problem with rollers? Is it an optical illusion or is the course offset to one side? For a jump? That is some serious flat land.

You can come down for a visit and ski anytime you like? Sorry only 3 event boats allowed on the lake though so no huge wakes!

Also thank you for the compliments we love it here. Matter of fact it's another night of skiing coming up before the sun goes down.

FYI - I HATE daylight savings time! So much ski time lost to the early evening sunsets!

Um, now long is a course? What about adding stadium lighting!!!

Well, if I'm ever in your area, then you can coach me some! If you remember, I did buy THIS over the summer...

It's the island that is offset so you can turn and head straight into it. No problem with rollers as we usually stop at the end of each pass. It's not bad at all living at the end. Gives me an easy starting point!.
We have a jump on our lake the other side is strictly slalom. We are fortunate though in that we get to use both lakes lots of times as usually there is only one boat on the water. So if you crash at ball one you can just go to the other side and hey look FLAT WATER!!!!!! :)

Thanks guys! C'mon down and enjoy a set anytime you'd like? Year round skiing here.

Had my best set/session of the whole year yesterday. Had to ski in a wetsuit as the outside air temp was down and a bit cool but the water is still 64 and on sunny days we still ski in just our shorts! :)

BensonWdby, Nice video. I enjoyed it, especially like the barefoot attempt. Don't know if you made it or not, but you did it the man's way. No boom. I'm a barefooter, it's a dying breed. I don't see it much anymore. My son has no interest in learning.

Got back on the water yesterday late in the afternoon. Was sure nice to get back out there and rip around some orange balls. Water like a sheet of glass.
Weather has been terrible, and wife is gone for the month. Had a buddy come by and drive the boat me.
Skied really well considering the week plus off.
Followed the success on the water with a few cold cans of man pops to end the day. No pics though as we were the only ones out. Hope to get out again at lunch for a set before the football games start! :)

very happy someone is getting out. I'm excited for this season for a variety of reasons, most of which are goal oriented. This will be my second full ski season on the course so I am anxiously waiting to grab some turns.

The Liquid Edge is the local Mastercraft Dealer, proshop, private lake at Farmer City between Bloomington and Champagne, visible from I-74 (souoth side) between the LeRoy and Farmer City exits. A great site and great coach.
