Local lake isn't looking so great. They drain it down every year to inspect/repair the dam and the locals do a beach cleanup day. Which means it's impossible to get out on the water!

That's a nice looking ramp. Most of the municipal ones around here are garbage and in poor condition with tons of weeds.

Looks like you should just get bigger tires for the trailer and have the lake to yourself.

That ramp drops off onto small boulders. But if I could get past those the no wake channel out into the lake is a couple hundred yards, along the way only about 5-6ft deep at full pool, and a solid rock bottom. Could probably walk across it right now...

Other bumpy ramp goes right out into the lake but is scary even on a good day. Rock/boulder bottom and no dock. :(

Like a glove! Did a garage demo before we bought the Mondo but so glad that our boat actually fits. I have rendered my garage somewhat useless but that's ok. Maybe my "honey do" list will be shorter over the winter since my tools are hard to get to. Wishful thinking. :D

Yikes. it definitely takes up the whole garage! I just couldn't do that. The S6 and the M3 would NOT be happy if they were deprived of their garage spots...

meanwhile, yesterday we took the XLV out on the Columbia. Aside from some D-bag stand up jetskiers, the river was awesome when we dropped in at 9am, so much in fact that we wakeboarded right from Portco/Marine Park in Vancouver.

And it continued to stay flat and buttery all the way up until we left at 2pm. I was mad though that I forgot to bring my slalom ski!!!!!!! Heck, we had such good water, I even tried the wakeskate for the first time... (I thought it was boring. Not my thing. Meh)

This pic was taken after noon... definitely a rare day for us on the river.

Went out for the 2nd day in the row. 67 degree water temp and 81 degree air temp! This is unheard of for October in the PNW. But I'll take it! Heck, I'll even deal with the fact that the boat launch was a hot mess with people trying to get that one last trip.

So, I have a little something that shipped on Thursday. 6 weeks ago I pulled the trigger on a Doomswell Nubstep 4'6". The day after I ordered it, my wife got in touch with Brock and had him put some custom graphics on it for me. Definitely a tribute to my recently sold boat (Stormtrooper) and the new boat (Yes, we're calling it the Death Star).

I am super stoked to ride it. Should show up on Thursday. I rode a 4'4 Drone squashtail and from the sounds of it, the Nubstep should be a slight step up in capabilities from the drone, so I'm taking a chance on riding an unknown, but the Drone blew my mind, so I'm stoked for the Nubstep.

I ordered the board with black traction down the center and blue traction on the outsides, but Agenda was backordered and Brock wanted to get me on the water sooner, so he's gonna hook me up with the right colors when he gets them in. Serious customer service there.

Well here is a pic of my green lady getting cleaned up after her 4 weeks getting fixed. I also included my nice brand new prop as well. Now that she is back I really just want to take her out one more time....at the least take her up to the last day we had fun and get in the cold water and start cutting the tree to make myself a trophy with the $1500 worth of scrap metal.

No gate, stock platform. Best wave I've had all season. Thinking about building a gate this winter though. Speed was 10.5 on the PP.

Got off work early today to pick up my son at PDX.

had the boat at home and ready to go. Was dropping the boat in at 5pm. Sadly we are short on daylight at the sun sets at 6:30 now. But we really maxmized our time as we had this kind of water from the moment we dropped the boat in the river. And we were pretty much the only wake boat out there and had the river basically to ourselves.

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-pWJ98RZECIE/VDdY8nVJSvI/AAAAAAAAUhU/a5W9X43REg4/s800/20141009_175331.jpg

https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-Q1yTNqRDkIw/VDdY61PODCI/AAAAAAAAUhM/3rCxD6aAIAA/s800/20141009_175323.jpg

So I started with about a 3+ mile slalom run, then did a couple wakeboard runs and worked myself back to the launch. I finished up with some surfing (night surfing admittedly) with a few runs on the new Doomswell. And the big bonus? I dropped under $15 in gas!!!!!! LOVE the XLV!

I am going to have to try throwing a little weight in the starboard locker. Mike Mandley swears by this but I haven't ever tried it. I need to pick up a couple of bags I can throw around, especially b/c I now have a goofy surfer getting better all the time.

Trust me, I've tried all different setups all season. My winter goal is to purchase another 800 for the starboard locker and figure out how to put an IBS in. Also thinking about making a ghetto gate for each side.

I think he plasti-dipped his original chrome wheels.

That would make sense then. when I saw the pic, it made me think of this:
http://content.belletire.com/wheel_image/the_wheel_source_black_steel_wheel_blk.jpg
although this would probably be more accurate: http://www.procompusa.com/aux_incl/images.ashx?i=%2Fimages%2Fproducts_bgcustom%2FPCW% 2F108957.jpg&w=286&h=243

and had me wondering if he had black steelies on there, which I guess he does.

it does go well with the black/green theme for sure. (although I have to confess that I'm not a black wheel fan. even when I got the black beadlocks for my Jeep because they wanted crazy money for any other color, I had to get my beadlock rings powder coated silver to provide some contrast with the tire...)

I didn't see it before with OEM wheels, so I can't say how it compares. I'm sure he likes it though.

Our rule is that if the boat is anchored and he's eating he can take it off, other than that it's always in, even on the dock at the cottage or marina.

I bet my son fell off the dock at least half a dozen times. Scared the crap out of us every time. Thankfully he had a life jacket on every time. Our rule was if they left the deck at the house they had to have a jacket on. Lot's of fussing as they got a little older but once they realized that wasn't going to change things that stopped.

Spent a good 6 hours on the water yesterday. Loving the XLV wakeboard wake. With only the center 650, it's just great. I actually pulled off a new grab I'd never done before. I did a big heelside jump with a Stalefish grab! I was super stoked.

After the wakeboard sets, the water was super smooth and I decided I was down for a slalom run. I was too lazy to drain the 650 just to refill it afterwards, so I actually did a freeride slalom run with the center ballast full. LOL!

I tried out the Cargo bimini, but later got scolded by Brock at Doomswell for subjecting my board to UV up on the bimini. I guess I'll keep my baby covered and not on the bimini from now on...

I tested out the new custom platform. It did better for sure, but definitely needs more of the corner trimmed off. I wanted to round those edges anyway, so no big loss there.

Since we had a little time and some nice weather, we decided to do a test to see how difficult it'll be to shoe-horn the XLV into the back yard for the winter... We're having a metal carport installed soon and it will need to go through the double gates to get back there. I'd say it's quite tight, but certainly possible! (especially if I'm only putting it back there once a year). I'm sure down the road I'll tweak the fence as I can get another 8 or 9" of opening by reconfiguring where one of the posts is.

Seriously.... That's like 4 "Good" years worth for me :(

It was a good season this year! Having a full lake helped as we were cut short last year with low water. Berg, When I traded my last boat I had 4 full seasons and only 147 total hours.. Wakesurfing has the hour meter ticking away!

Yesterday, getting everything cleaned and ready to put in storage for the winter. I'm hoping this winter is shorter than last year.

Some of you guys may recall I bumped into Todd Hoffman from the Gold Rush series a couple years ago at an RV show and got a picture with him. Wife is in Vegas and just sent me this last night.

Kinda cool. Wondering if the new season of the show is going to be any good this year. Seems to be starting off with some new, but then some same old same old "wing-it" Hoffman style.

It's supposed to be 85F here on Sunday. Makes me think I should get the boat out and hit the lake one more time. Water temp will be a little cool but 85 and sunny is awesome for October.

Beautiful late October day, here in Richmond VA. Boat is around the corner at Car Toyz getting new remote installed. Am at Starbucks enjpoying the free wifi and beautiful morning with the wifie. All is well with country living here in the southeast and relocation from 'burb life in midwest has been a good thing. Do wish I could get on the water, but still spend a lot of time at work. Taking good care of my Outback, knowing that 2015 holds a lot of promise for time on Lake Anna. Looking forward to a November road trip to Tuscaloosa for the Alabama/Auburn Iron Bowl. It's a picture thread and I have none to share at the moment, nonetheless good opportunity to post up a short note. Roll Tide!

That was over the weekend Berg. (I am surprised you didn't get pics of the windstorm) Weekend is over and the sun will come out today with a high temp of 61!!!

Guess who has their boat at work today and will be hitting the water right after work??????????????

Yeah, your winterization is being driven more by kids sports practices and after school activities than by weather! It ain't freezing overnight yet!

Makes me wonder... I wonder what it would be like to up the speed and try to wakeboard in a slalom course to see how many bouys I could get... I have run an alpine slalom course on my snowboard, so maybe a slalom ski course might be likewise fun as a speed run on the wakeboard....

There is a young dude who comes to our lake every once in a while and the bugger rips it up on a trick ski! It's fun to watch but crazy to see that kind of talent too!

Could be done at 17 to 19mph. Never at slalom speeds on a board Toe side may pose a problem At least for mec

So, the last decent night before Daylight saving time this weekend.

Threw the couple remaining items we'd need (like my vest and surf board) into the boat last night. The buttoned up the cover. LOVE having a cover I can tow with.

https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-uiMaLiJFcaY/VE8KMjQWqwI/AAAAAAAAUvs/I9J2r6njSfc/s800/20141027_162243.jpg

Got to the launch and tossed the last couple bags in the boat and we were in the water at 5pm.

https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-2FFHzydTY9Y/VE8ImrgTTcI/AAAAAAAAUvQ/SNHhxBJ3IH4/s800/IMG952052.jpg

With a bit of a breeze we had to motor about 10 minutes to get better water. But we found some nice smooth stuff and filled up the rear sack. I opt'd to skip wakeboarding or skiing and go straight to surfing. Water temp was 55 degrees as predicted and air was about the same. I chose to be comfortable in the water with drysuit, booties and gloves. Call me a wimp if ya want, but it was darn nice to be dry and have warm hands/feet.

Got to test out the latest shape on the platform. The more rounded profile looks a lot better and flowed perfectly with the water coming off the hull. I think this might be a winner.

Had a good evening on the water. My friend got to ride his new Lakewakes skim board and I rode my Doomswell Nubstep and his new Lakewakes. Both fantastic boards.

Earlier tonight, the conversation went like this...

(looking through gopro action shots on the PC from last night's surfing) Me: "You didn't take very many pictures of me on the gopro"

Wife: "That's because you weren't doing anything cool"

Me: "Oh" :-/

But I guess she did humor me enough to take a couple shots. LOL
