I have noticed an issue that is concerning to me . When taking the boat rear drain plug out I am noticing some oil in the drain water. Took it to a dealer for inspection, they say they can't find a leak. Yesterday I had oil in drain water again. Anyone know anything that would cause this?
Thanks in advance.

Even a small spill in the hull will be quite noticeable in the bilge water. Have you recently changed the oil? If it's actually a leak and not noticeable, you'll just have to keep an eye on all of the fluid levels to figure it out. Any of the fluids will look the same in the water (oil, tranny, v-drive, hydrolic)

possibly wakeplate? that's the one thing that I know I had to add several times over the course of the season..

vdrive is my guess... check the bottom side for oil residue

Won't be this. It's electric on a 2012.

I had the same issue on my 08 LSV. It gradually got worse and I found my oil pan was rusting by the drain plug and this is a common problem.

Took it out again today, trailered boat , pulled rear drain plug and still oil. Seemed to not be as much. Found red on wakeplate. Looks like tranny oil. See no leaks around tranny, will continue to keep an eye out and will also check out that oil pan.

Goto parts store, you can buy Ultraviolet additive, add that to trans. Dry it with a towel as much as you can. Go boating, then at night take a uv light to it in the dark. It will show you the leak.

Since you complained to the dealer last year, SC might still cover it under power train.

The 5 year transferred because I stayed with boaters, I should be ok there. It's just driving me crazy!!!

That may have only been on the motor, not the transmission. But, I could be wrong.

Good point, Cynde is helping point me in the right direction. The tech is telling me some common areas to check. Being told it's usually loose plug/ plugs where v-drive connects to transmission. We will se soon enough
