I just bought a 2008 lsv and wondered many of you probably already have figured out the right ballast setup for that boat. I currently have a 400 in the front locker a 750 in my surf side locker and a 400 in the opposite locker? I have played with the wake plate alittle bit but still have trouble dialing it all in? Any reccomendations?

You need an IBS.

Wake plate all the way up.
400-650 in the bow
Center locker full
400 where the cooler was
750 surf side rear
200 non surf rear (if that) - I don't put anything in my non surf side rest locker. That's where keep 2 coolers of goodies....

I don't think you have enough weight up front to put any weight at all in the opposite locker. I run the 400 center, 400 under the surf (port) side seats where the cooler used to be, and a 750 full in the surf side locker. I try to put 2-3 people up front and everybody else on the surf side. I have the best wave I've seen anybody run without an IBS. Try leaving the opposite side empty and moving everybody to the surf side with a couple people up front. Start with the wake plate all the way up and adjust down to lengthen the pocket after you have a clean wake. Run up to 11 mph and then slow down till it looks big and clean. Good luck! Shoot some video and we can possibly help more.

I like a huge wave so I run a lot of ballast..

IBS + 750 external bag upfront
400 center
400 under seat
1100 rear
and someone on the rear swim pad..

All the below comments are correct.

HOWEVER you can surf with just a 750 in the right rear locker, and 400 in the ski locker. Wake plate 100% up and 10-10.5 mph

I have surfed this a few times on Al Cab boat.

it will be a steep short wave but it does have a pocket. For the beginner you will think there is no pocket at all. Also for this setup you will need a pretty light weight board that has very little water drag.

My recommendation is get the IBS in the bow, then fill your 750 all the way up, and 200-300 in your Starboard locker, 100% up wake plate, and 10-10.5 MPH

Everyone needs to sit on the right side of the boat.

I have a 13 OBV which i understand is similar if not the same boat. We run 750 in the rear 400 in the center and ibs which i figure by pump time adds about 300#. Also have passengers sit down the side. This really helps to lengthen the wake. I run wake plate at 1/2. I loose push about 12-15 ft back from platform. I cant ride that far back but can pump to get in the pocket. I will try to dig up a pic from last weekend.

Not the same boat. Doesn't take quite as much weight due to smaller hull on OBV.

We have an 11 LSV. My favorite setup at the moment for a regular side wave is:

IBS full
Ski locker full
port 1100 rear full
about 15% in starboard 1100
350 straightline bagon the back seat
350 straightline bag on the port seat
550 straightline bag on the floor, pushed to the port side
wake plate up
about 10.5

Now that's a fun wave!

Best I've got of the goofy side. I'm pretty sure this was all the ballast loaded. Basically the same as regular setup but nothing in the port locker.

maybe your speedo is off...carry a handheld GPS to check speeds. You've got the weight it sounds like, but that will be for naught if speed out of whack

Nice guess. It was definitely Canyon Lake, near New Braunfels, TX.

Going to have to try that one out next season. Looks great. Used to love Travis until it dried up!

Hey guys! I'm new to this whole deal. We just purchased our first wakeboard boat in a 2014 Moomba LSV with Flow surf on it. I've read many of the post and from what I can tell from my wave is that I need more weight in the front. My wave is short but clean(somewhat) with a short curl before whitewash, but I'm running the wake plate all the way down to achieve that. I've got the standard ballast system (1800#) in the boat and I'm running all full with exception to the non surf side and I've emptied it about a 1/4 from full. Flow extended at setting one running about 9.2 on digital speedo. I do know that according to GPS is that I'm actually running about 1.5 mph faster although it takes it to get a clean wave. Any slower or faster seems to mess things up. I know that you can't tell much without a picture, but any suggestions so far?
Thanks!!
John
